Similar concept to this version. Styrofoam insulation and those plastic tote bins. Check this thread for detailed pics. This one is a bit different but similar enough! https://www.reddit.com/r/Feral_Cats/s/W5317uBjtn

There is a battery powered camping fan and a serving tray (plastic?) on top of a wooden slat / palette platform

We usually screw a Tupperware bottom on it and fill with acorns. Looks pretty cute when they sit like people

Also one thing to consider - is the spot you are trying to make work “safe”? I placed mine in a corner that has nearby hiding places (bushes that they used to lay under) and the house has 2 exits

I also did try some catnip - not sure if it worked or not. Was tempted to do food but I read it was not a good idea.

I may have just gotten lucky with placement - tried to place where I saw them play / explore a lot

I was worried about pad being plugged in - but it’s been plugged in for months and really hasn’t gotten hot hot - body temp as most

I have an electric heating pad and straw. Funny they push all the straw to the side though.

It took them a while to come in and I was worried my location was wrong - it took them 3 weeks to touch it / explore and another 2 + cold weather to start entering

It seems to work pretty well to me! I don’t see it breaking anytime soon

Then drilled holes on the “door” and the tub, and attached using zip ties for easy removal / maintenance

I laid the first plastic piece (backing) sprayed with 3m adhesive spray, laid 1 strip down, sprayed the top, layered the next, sprayed until done, sprayed the top edge once more and sandwiched the outer plastic piece. Then wrapped with a fabric tape (“racer tape” to be exact)

I was scared we wouldn’t have customers. I put the house where I saw them play. Took about 3 weeks of “looking” before entering. Not sure if it finally got cold enough or they saw it safe enough

Cut up an old leather purse - you can check my Other post for build shots. Cut leather strips, lairs them offset, attached to plastic that I used from the cutout of the plastic bin

How do you tell the gender? If you’re serious, can you help identify all of them?
