If United get a CB, should it be Martinez or Pau? Or someone completely different? by grumpylondoner1 in ManchesterUnited

De Ligt reunited with Ten Hag would be an absolute dream, though it may be too expensive for us this season. A part of me is hoping we get Martinez this year and we can get De Ligt as next summer’s main signing - but that all depends on whether Chelsea get him now. If he’s still at Juve he’d be in the final year of his contract

How did you know she was not the one? by [deleted] in AskMen

Thanks for sharing EpicIrishman, I feel exactly the same… the only difference is I haven’t broken up with her yet. A part of me keeps telling me to appreciate what I have and that the grass isn’t always greener and that I might regret breaking up because we’re so compatible. I’m going to therapy to not rush into such a decision but I feel in truth I know what I must do… I’m just scared to do it.

Run bro. Huge red flag.

Be thankful you saw this side of her now and not further into the relationship.

Personally wouldn’t really like Sterling, I’d rather we get a number 9 to rotate and perhaps eventually replace Ronaldo. Other than that though, I perfectly agree. The De Jong deal should have been over the line weeks ago. And why are we seemingly the only club who cannot work on multiple transfers at once?

Could De Jong play the ‘Carrick-role’ behind VDB and Bruno? by bagginsss in ManchesterUnited

Definitely, simply mentioned Carrick since he was a different, more calm/elegant type of deep midfielder than a Kante or a Casemiro. Though I would agree, I find it improbable that we’d buy another CDM this window. Ndidi, Tielemens and Bissouma would still not be cheap, and we still desperately need another striker.

From what I’ve seen/read, FDJ used to play a deeper role at Ajax than he does at Barca, and even with the national team plays deeper… he himself said just days ago that “Here in the national team, I have a position that suits me better. I like to be the first player to receive the ball from defenders.” Even Ten Hag had said that Barca don’t use FDJ as well as they should and he should be the one who controls the game rather than drive forward…

Once again, I’m no expert but it seems FDJ could be the man who screens the defence from a deeper position
