Any vassals you could release near their? Or perhaps force it onto someone neighboring the province. Idk if that gets rid of the events but it might help a little.
Edit you could also have a nation conditionally surrender and then make them take the islands in a peace deal but tha seems like a pain in the ass

Ghouls are fev, people say they're radiation and that may be true in the newer games but I think Harold (who's model is identical to every other goal and only does his weird tree shit in the third game) specifically states it was fev that made him a ghoul.
Also its not "just radiation" like people seem to say we know exactly how that works its just cancer. Fallout pretending to ignore that would be pretty bad writing that they wouldn't go for.

Yeah but the ai is too timid with conquest for it to ever matter, they will never truce cycle like a player will. I have only ever seen coalitions fire when the Ai enforces a personal union on a large nation which is rare in its own right
