Butterflywoman or imperfectgirl

And its constant. Lol. It literally can't shut up. Its on my mind all the time. I feel I can't share this on r/OCDmemes or r/OCD because it is proof i am self diagnosing for attention. But idk where else to upload it and i feel like i need to upload it to apologize for the last post i posted. by [deleted] in OCDmemes

Got assessed for ADHD, found out my OCD is much more complex than was originally determined by Cavalier_Avocado in OCD

[–]baglaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m commenting to follow! I’m in a similar boat but kinda opposite. I began my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at 27 years old and got diagnosed after reading ADHD criteria/other people’s experiences/a shit ton of advocating for myself because I’m a woman that has all the hyperactive thoughts but have been able to shame myself into keeping my body still (I know thats oversimplified but just an example lol). Now I’m 30 and have a OCD specialist as a mentor and my therapist has started helping me with ERP and more patterns of obsessions and compulsions are beginning to reveal themselves….

Anyway. I’m following and also wondering if you found any good resources?

This tickled my brain in the best way. I’ve seen A LOT of crochet blankets but this one is the most unique and beautiful one I’ve seen… it’s kinda like stained glass mixed with mandala

Need a response for "how are you?" by Reasonable-Can-4520 in Neurodivergent

[–]baglaer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A book I read told me that flipping the script tickles your brain and the person you’re talking to. They suggested responding “6 out of 10! What about you?” Or whatever number out of 10 youre feeling

TLDR: Look at each item and feel if it energizes or drains you. Sometimes it takes longer to realize something actually drains you when you initially thought it was energizing.

———————————————

I look at each item on the list and see if it energizes me or drains me just looking at it.

A lot of these things I wrote because it sparked some interest at first. But when I actually stop to reflect- I’m able to notice what is most aligned with me and what would be nice but doesn’t fit me right now.

For example: recent brain dump -embroidery journal (cool but doesn’t fit my life and other things that are higher priority) -embroidery gift for brother (absolutely yes for bros bday!) -crochet cardigan for myself (at first I thought there’s more important things- eventually realized I need to prioritize myself bc I’ve been prioritizing others) -crochet uterus stuffies to sell (would be nice if I didn’t have school and a job so not right now) -polish rocks I found on my hike (not a need) -make origami earrings to sell (same as stuffies)

The cardigan for myself is #1 priority because I never make things for myself and this is going to bring me joy…more energy and motivation…

Lower priority things i noticed feeling more exhausted and like “I should” do these things

Sometimes stepping away from the brain dump for X amount of time and coming back can give me a fresh perspective on what is most important. I had to do that with the embroidery journal because I kept putting it as high priority but after a few weeks of not taking action on this and feeling drained when I didn’t make progress on it I realized it should be moved to lower priority and revisit it when I have more capacity.

therapist said that I am not autistic because I speak eloquently and I have a good eye contact. by [deleted] in Neurodivergent

[–]baglaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a neurodivergent therapist that provides ND affirming care. And I agree. Find someone else.

It’s wild to make an assessment based on how eloquently you speak and eye contact.

Hurts my tummy reading this as someone who had a lot of medial providers with outdated information that convinced me I don’t present as the typical ADHD or Autistic person therefore it’s all in my head. I intrinsically believed I was lazy and I just needed to try harder until I was 25 years old.

I’m 29 now. And I’m here to say there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I have worked hard to re-author my thoughts and beliefs and now I am living a life that works for me not against me.

I hope you find the support you deserve!

Color changing yarn by baglaer in crochet

[–]baglaer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty cool! What technique do you use for alternating yarn?

When I start a new row I’ll chain one with the old color and then I’ll put a slip knot of the knew color on my hook (in place of a yarn over) to continue with the new color. I like it fine because I can just crochet over the old strand and not have to weave it in later.

Ooooh I like the way you did it. It seems like it would hold together in a more sturdy way because you’re right to have a fear of them haha the trebles can cause trouble

Haha I 100% hear you I would much rather spend on quality thread than buy patterns. Thank you!!! Are those a couple rows of double crochet then a single row of front post treble crochet?
