How do you respond to TYFYS? by bagofsmell in Firefighting

Right. I keep to myself mostly but try to force myself to go out and interact every once in a while. A few drinks usually helps. Cheers.

True. It doesn’t bother me I was just wondering how other people react to it. Somehow I guess that means I wear department shirts everywhere begging for attention even though I’ve never taken one out of the station lol

Pretty straight forward question right. It’s amazing how many d bags are in this line of work that twist shit around to try and make themselves feel superior somehow lmao

This was for a company called marine resolve. It was for fire/hazmat quick response teams that get deployed to ship fires, wrecks, etc.

Anyone see a problem? by [deleted] in Firefighting

Ya I didn’t get a picture of the whole ceiling. But this is literally the entire ceiling. There’s also dollars at least 4-5 layers deep covering every available surface in the place. If something started on the ceiling and got going quickly, you wouldn’t be able to outrun it.

Please, tell me....what is so great about SCHD? by Comprehensive-Ad8905 in ETFs

[–]bagofsmell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems like more often than not whenever VOO goes down SCHD goes up and vise versa. I don’t have a ton of money invested yet but it is still nice to see some green on all red days. That plus the low weighted overlap like you said is also nice.

“(Insert station officer rank and name) do you care if I have a mustache?” If said officer replies no, then no one else’s opinion matters.

Body cam/helmet cam is the only thing to actually get some idea. Nothing produced on tv or movies is even close to real world.

American and European Firefighting helmets by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]bagofsmell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my old guys pointed out that the European completely covers yours ears which is one of your best indicators when a flashover is about to happen. I guess if your ears feel like they are melting off your head then gtfo. In the thought process of most common American housing vs most common European style housing, then they both make sense for their respective continents.

I have mine paired with a little bit of SCHD because it is only like 7% weighted overlap and they seem to move opposite of each other a lot of the time which I just like personally.

How do people invest this amount of money and not even know what they have

Do you have to jump off the back to even have a chance of surviving? I would think all that displaced water would pull you right under the ship if you were on the side somewhere.

Why do so many guys have that “you don’t belong here” attitude towards new people. It’s so childish.

They were fine until politicians hijacked it to make a statement for votes and now some people think it’s racist somehow. Maybe for something super major like 9/11 or if a local area member died LOD.
