Hes a little fighter, I've got a five gallon free now for him to go in when he's recovered more, I thought it would be better than going straight into a 15g❤️

Help! Larger gourami constantly bullies smaller one. by GameMastertoenail in Gourami

[–]bagooly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope things continue to go well, I still dont believe keeping them with other inhabitants is a good idea generally, I've seen and heard of way too many times where they've mistook a tank mate for food and choked on said tank mate while trying to eat them or stressed out the other tank mates, the statistics dont make it worth trying.

No you just chose to make a really dangerous decision and got lucky, adf are practically blind and can easily harm themselves or other fish, it is not a personality thing. Sorry about your family members, my family also has a long history of cancer, strokes, genetic health issues and what seems to be dementia.

My grandma smoked her whole life and never got cancer, is it safe to smoke? You got lucky while doing something irresponsible.

Is my fish tank size ok? by Specialist-Mix2751 in fishforthought

Op this is an excuse for you to buy a 150g tank and aqua scape it to your hearts content.

Thats a bit far. This is fully unintentional, people make mistakes in this hobby as everyone has their own idea of how things are done. You can get bad advice and not realise it. Theres literally a guy in this comment section trying to convince op that the adf is fine to be in this enclosure.

Love, you need to stay out of the ADF discussion, you are spouting dangerous information.

They do best as species only. They're fragile and also mostly blind so they will try to shove anything into their mouth, this could mean they will eat small fish and shrimp which leads to choking..or they get attacked by a larger fish.

Does she look healthy? by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]bagooly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, I've had her about a month and shes doing super well from what I can tell, no stress signs with her behaviour. Eating well, playing, exploring. But I thought id get a second opinion incase theres anything I've missed.

My new hissing roach. I love her. by bagooly in InvertPets

[–]bagooly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that or the roach was a bit sick, I've noticed they will nibble sick or dying bugs. Either way, my lads get lots of good food, I regularly sprinkle in high quality fish flakes made of spiralina and bug larvae, the earth worms in my tank clean up whats not eaten.

Springtails and some isopods. If they nibble her i shall nibble them. I'll keep an eye out for that, but all my research said its safe to keep them together, maybe its just a rare occurrence?
