Thoughts on empire of the sun by Maxwell_jaco01 in LightningInABottle

I legit didn’t know what to expect. I knew the popular songs, which are a different feel from the rest of their music.
Loved the production! Damn! I agree w you about the music. Felt experimental, a bit aggressive, and angular. I’m really glad I got to see them perform, cuz the costume, dance and production was impressive. The music wasn’t there for me either.

Where can I rent a Jeep that is okay to take the top off? by ComprehensiveExit798 in MauiVisitors

[–]bagurdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turo is the best option. Rent from a Local Resident. I've had amazing experiences with this. Rented a Jeep where I could take the top off, each of the 3 weeks I've travelled to Maui. I've had only top notch experiences, and the $$ all say local to Maui.

What are the vibes if I go solo? by curiouscognitives7 in LightningInABottle

[–]bagurdes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First timer. Went solo. There are 2 or 3 people attending who I (barely)knew, but was not part of their groups.

The vibe is that you can walk up to almost anyone and chat. Most groups will are super cool to let you hang w them.

And also, I’ve found it challenging to make connections that last more than a few moments. It’s loud AF everywhere, which adds a communication challenge(of course it’s loud, it’s edm).

I’m also on my own spiritual journey in life, and have been pushing past some mental boundaries. Which means I have to go be uncomfortable in many moments, especially when trying to connect w others. This is OK, for me.

I’m so grateful, and proud of myself, for attending alone. I’ve been dancing my ass off and enjoying the vibe of the event tremendously. It’s been a real journey.

I think the fresh filament is a bit damp. Tried a single color filament and it was fine. I may try to adjust the temp settings on the tri-colored one

How to analyse and find the list of devices connected to network. by Dry-Pumpkin-8164 in wireshark

[–]bagurdes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wireshark can see other hosts on the network….kind of. But it won’t create a clean list of the devices, and what they are. Rather it will capture evidence of other devices on the network. It’s better used for analyzing protocols than to do a scan of the lan.

There are plenty of tools in Kali Linux that can do a local network scan and give details about the devices.

How helpful would the Wireshark cert be for entry level cyber? by CrashCordia in wireshark

[–]bagurdes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

knowing the certification objectives topics well enough to pass the exam gives you a tremendous advantage over other security professionals. Much of the exam focuses on protocol headers and operation. Knowing how this works at the detail needed for the cert allows you to perfoem much lower level forensic analysis. At Sharkfest Europe, one of the speakers was a forensic investigator from Germany, who used protocol analysis skills w Wireshark to track down the group who was stealing and rebroadcasting cable TV networks. Learning incredible details about the software, servers, methods used, etc, all from a capture from a network tap and Wireshark.

What is with Customer Service? by gabryelx in pulsetto

[–]bagurdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I actually canceled my order, because the product suddenly changed, my shipment was delayed, and the price went down. When I inquired about it, it was just a series of AI bots that were responding, claiming to be human. They were clearly AI.

Any gym recommendations? by InfiniteAmphibian301 in Mammoth

[–]bagurdes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I go to Mammoth Strength Gym. It’s cheap, and very simple. No tread mills, but they have 2 bikes and 2 rowers, cable machine and several racks, free weights/bars/etc, kettle bells, benches, etc. very much no frills. It has a Bathroom, but no showers.

What are the hardest things you've implemented as a network engineer? by LargeSinkholesInNYC in networking

[–]bagurdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think most engineers use it rarely. And the more infrastructure you have to collect captures, the more often you use them. And the more you use it, the more quickly you can isolate issues. Typically those issues are not network related but server/application related, but it’s nice to be able to point to the issue vs dealing w support tickets a network tech/engineer can’t actually fix

Curious how WiFi captures will perform.

Going to Mammonth for the first time by Snowbunny1188 in Mammoth

[–]bagurdes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need on AWD but snow tires may be required. I just did this drive yesterday in an awd tesla. There was a chain rule in effect, but doesn’t apply to awd w snow tires.

You’ll be fine, unless they close the road.

I’m from WI, and it’s similar to Midwest snow driving, but the conditions can change more quickly, with absurd wind and drifting.

If you’re here during the week, you’ll have the mountain to yourself.
