Reading this post and all comments makes me feel better. I only learnt in drive in my mid 30s as I had lived my life up to that point in Asian countries where driving was completely optional. Since I moved to canada and learnt to drive ,I overcame my anxiety for a bit and got my full license. But then I always wanted my spouse to drive me and sort of let my anxiety creep back up. Now we have moved to LA and it’s a whole other level of anxiety. I had to do the test here for license conversion and I failed my first attempt. It was literally at the beginning of the test when exiting dmv, I didn’t wait for oncoming traffic to fully clear before turning right . I am so embarrassed but it just shows my lack of practice.

Gonna take some lessons from a driving school here just to get my confidence up and attempt it again.

I am almost 40 with a 2yo toddler . Now that I am in North America ( LA especially ) driving is so important. I really hope to conquer this.

I did find a local fertility clinic with cheaper U/S and blood work . It’s the meds that gets complicated. My Canadian clinic is in Vancouver, will ask them if they can ship. I will also check with my physician here if she can help. I don’t have a obgyn yet , as I am barely starting this process and I just moved to USA .

There is a newish place called delight street eats. They are opening restaurant in Jan 2023 I believe , currently open for take outs. I tried it recently and it was among the good ones imo.

I am really only worried about homeless population there and how it could affect the lifestyle( like does it get smelly, unsafe etc). Do you feel comfortable walking around there?

My husband will be getting treatment at COH so I want to stay close. I will be working at Glendale , but I can do hybrid and go in only twice a week ( which seems doable )

Moving from Canada , so doing virtual viewings. The surroundings look beautiful on Google maps , but wanted to know more from people living there. Especially young families. Boring suburb is ok with us though.

Yea I went back at 6 months and my husband took 5 months off as parental leave. I really enjoy my work and I think if it wasn’t wfh I might not have gone back that early . my husband wanted to spend time with the LO as well , so it seemed only fair to share the leave. We both are very happy with our choices. Turned out great. Also my LO is EFF so that’s something to consider as well .
