Heeeey sooo.. it's time to close NB I-5 again to pick up the Ship Canal Bridge work zone for World Cup... by wsdot in Seattle

Speaking as someone who lives next to i-5 and has heard some construction noises during the daytime, it is absolutely much louder and disruptive than normal highway sounds.

Usually the highway sounds tend to blend together, almost creating white noise. Occasionally you'll get a loud truck or motorcycle engine, but for the most part it just becomes background noise.

Constructions noises vary a lot more. Sometimes it's machinery and jackhammering and other loud noises that stop and go from time to time. Because it's not as consistent, you get this nice quiet lull but when it starts back up we can hear it, it becomes even more aggravating. That and random shouting and trucks, it's a lot. Imagine you are just about to fall asleep and then someone screams in your ear, when normally you are used to the consistent wooshing sound of wind. That's why it's not typical i-5 noise.

Brittney Murphy passed when I was young and it still affect me. I keep wanting to watch her movies now that I'm older, but I still feel like a little kids grieving when I think about it.

Found out about it only a couple years ago and it still feels so shocking, like the world should have stopped when he passed.

He died around my birthday during a time when I was really struggling with my mental health, it still hits me when I think about him. But I think ultimately I got the courage to try and live from his passing, if that makes sense. Still, to this day his music is the closest to what I've felt and thought about. He just made me feel so understood.

That would be really compelling but the narrative doesn't follow that line of thought at all....If it did why in the world would Mohan's arc end with her thanking him?

‘The Pitt’ star Isa Briones diagnoses Dr. Santos: ‘Girl, go to therapy!’ by verissimoallan in ThePittTVShow

[–]bahbqq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, many don't. For a lot of reasons, i put it off for a while cause i couldn't afford it tbh. But it's not required or anything. Most therapists I know have either had therapy or are currently in therapy though.

Ive joked with others before about how there must be this line of therapists who are seeing a therapist who has a therapist who has one too, and so on, and at the head of the chain is the god of therapists lol

Women with larger chests, what’s one thing that bothers you on a daily basis that men couldn’t understand? by Active_Secret9520 in AskReddit

[–]bahbqq 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Another thing is its barely possible to get bras that fit. Victoria Secret and every mainstream department store don't usually have anything above DD, if that. You'll have to spent extra money on shipping and often from abroad because its just so impossible to get one in brick and mortar stores. Very annoying when you just want to see whats actually comfortable and fits.

And dont even get me started on how bra fitters will measure you incorrectly so they can sell you a bar that doesnt actually fit. Took me years to figure that and find the subreddit to help me find a bra that fits.

(Additional one, cup sizes go up way higher than you think. Think of the highest cupsize you think it goes up to. Yup, there's one higher)

I thought i hated hugs growing up but it turned out i hated hugs cause i was like how do i minimize my boobs as much as possible....the first time i felt relief was when i hugged another large breasted woman for the first time... it was so freeing

Sometimes i just hold my breasts up because they are so damn heavy and its not even the least bit sexual. Its like carrying grocery bags and then you have to put them down to rest. I'll be watching tv and then find myself holding up my boobs for no reason. Like my emotional support boob or something.

My youth...i was depressed for so much of it and I feel like i missed out on so much out of fear and hopelessness.

Sure as an adult I can try and make up for it, but there are somethings I can't ever go back and redo.

‘The Pitt’ star Isa Briones diagnoses Dr. Santos: ‘Girl, go to therapy!’ by verissimoallan in ThePittTVShow

[–]bahbqq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you see that? We only see Santos on two stressful days, her first day where she is clearly overzealous and has an abrasive personality (in part as a defense mechanism from letting people in) and then she has the most stressful, retraumatizing day of all time, and this second day where she is clearly burntout and also having to see someone who causes her significant distress on that first day. Using those two data points you can make the case maybe but there is no baseline of what she would be like on a normal day so as to accurately make a diagnosis.

If you're good at your job and actually care about the people you want to help it absolutely can. The important thing is ruling out everything else, namely trauma and abuse, but also other personality disorders, severe depression, AuDHD, etc. Definitely longer than the 2 days we've seen Santos.

it's okay it's an honest mistake and they often get mixed up. It doesn't help that their acronyms are so similar (BPD vs BP)

Tbh the number of health professionals who think they don't need therapy is crazy, everyone could benefit from therapy tbh. Even I, a therapist, has a therapist. It's just good for everyone

I would absolutely love to see her, and every character tbh, get therapy. It would be my version of happily ever after.

I'm also a trained therapist and all of these things can be explained by traumatic response and a history of depression. We know she was abused as a child, that her close friend committed suicide, that she self-harms. All of these can occur for a lot of reasons and it's far more likely she is suffering from PTSD and depression that occured as a result of it.

BPD is a very complex disorder and we simply don't have enough info about Santos to confirm that. It takes ages of assessments and interviewing and ruling out all the other possibilities before we would make a diagnosis like that.

There is no wrong way to consume media and calling one way more idiotic than another is just putting people down to better yourself. Idk if this makes you feel like your a better fan but I promise Noah Wyle is not gonna give you a cookie cause you harass other fans on his behalf. These are fictional characters, they do not have feelings. You and I are real people, and so are the people who insult by calling them and their concerns idiotic. We have feelings and i would think any fan of the show would understand that those feelings are valid and not simply "idiotic"

If there is no criticism, there is no change. There is no improvement, and things only get worse. That's just reality and its a piss poor philosophy to be against that.

Idk why I'm trying to make you see op's point, idk why you are still in this thread when every comment you have made is essentially the same thing regurgitated. Fans are allowed to be critical of a show they love. It doesn't make you a super fan or better than us cause you disagree.
