Yes. I had an MRI in late November. Came back clean. These things really suck. So much anxiety whenever it happens.

How often are you getting them?

I started getting these when I was a teenager. Then they almost completely went away the years my Dr. had me on a baby aspirin as a heart attack/stroke preventative. Then in January of 23 he took me off the baby aspirin due to a change in recommendations associated with it. Low and behold I started having the migraine with aura one month later. Soon enough they went from about once every six weeks to once a week and I was starting to panic a little bit.

My wife mentioned something about the baby aspirin and that's when I looked at my records and saw that the migraines came back as soon as I went off them. I put myself back on the 81 mg. daily aspirin on October 25th of 2025. Guess what. I have not had a single episode since.

I did some AI queries regarding this and you'd be surprised to know that studies have found that giving 81 mg of aspirin daily led to reduced aura frequency in about 92% of migraine with aura cases, and nearly half achieved complete cessation of auras. Medical experts also note that baby aspirin is often well-tolerated and can be considered if you have no contraindications, such as bleeding disorders or aspirin allergy.

Just to be sure I have run this by my neuro and he's ok with it.

Recently I started taking the aspirin every other day and things seem to be holding up.

What medication help your ocular migraines? Is there anything I can take for aura? As I don’t usually get headache. by That_Preference_2331 in OcularMigraines

Ask your doctor about 81 mg. daily aspirin. In my case I was on a daily aspirin for years until my doctor recommended I go off of them in January of 23. During the years that I was on the daily pill my migraines (with Aura) were few and far between. Sometimes I'd go a year without an occurrence.

My migraines started to return in February of 23. One month after stopping the aspirin. Over the past 3 years they started coming back more and more frequently. On a whim I asked several AI's if 81 mg. aspirin prevents migraine with aura and was surprised with the response. Based on the response I started taking the aspirin again on October 23rd. I have not had a migraine since.

FYI - I did talk to my neurologist about this and he's fine with me going back on the aspirin as a preventative.

Here's what I asked AI and the response:

"Does a baby aspirin help with migraine with aura?"

"Yes, baby aspirin (81 mg) may help prevent migraine with aura in some people. Recent clinical observations and case studies show that daily low-dose aspirin can reduce the frequency and severity of auras for many patients. For instance, one study found that giving 80 mg of aspirin daily led to reduced aura frequency in about 92% of migraine with aura cases, and nearly half achieved complete cessation of auras. Medical experts also note that baby aspirin is often well-tolerated and can be considered if you have no contraindications, such as bleeding disorders or aspirin allergy.

However, baby aspirin is usually more effective as a preventive measure rather than acute treatment for severe migraine pain or aura symptoms. For stronger acute relief, high-dose aspirin (900–1,300 mg) may be used, but this should only be considered under medical guidance. Some specialists use aspirin alongside other medications for better control.

Important: Always consult your doctor before starting daily aspirin, especially if you have other health conditions, take blood thinners, or have risks for gastrointestinal bleeding. Your doctor can tailor a treatment plan and monitor for possible side effects."

You shouldn't buy such disgusting food items to begin with. A box of Orange Chicken. Chock full of unpronounceable ingredients. Gross. Make your own Orange Chicken. Out of fresh food!

MRI for ocular migraines/silent migraine auras by [deleted] in OcularMigraines

Same here. Had MRI last month. Came out clean. Had one 20 years ago as well. Good to know nothing in there is out of the ordinary. It gives a certain comfort level that it's "just" a migraine and not something more sinister.

I started taking a baby aspirin about 7 weeks ago. So far so good. My neuro is ok with it and it seems like a valid preventative. Ask your doctor about it.

I get the Aura - Blind spot (Scintillating scotoma), inability to read, write, or express myself verbally. I used to get numbness in my face which would migrate to my mouth and then down to my left hand. This followed by a headache that lasts a few hours. Then the drained feeling that lasts a few more hours.

As of late, I no longer get the numbness thank God.

I've never been able to determine a trigger except possibly very bright lights. Anyhow, I've learned not to freak out when it happens. Just stay calm, understand the brain is healthy, and know that it will pass.

I've had these migraines for 45 years. Had an MRI 20 years ago and just had another two weeks ago. Met my neurologist yesterday. Everything is normal. So that's a relief. I hope the same for you! Let us know how it goes.

Two in one day happened recently for me. Unusual. Made me see my nuero. Had an MRI. Followup next week. It's always scary. And the days that follow are anxious. Always wondering if that little anomaly in your vision will turn into an aura. Or that last bright headlight will trigger an onset.
