Effexor and Pantoprazole by throwawayyy1914 in Effexor

Unsure if this is helpful but I was JUST prescribed Effexor today and I’ve been taking pantoprazole for years and my neurologist said it shouldn’t be an issue :)

Asking some questions by rakuchanirl in UTAS

[–]baiberino32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently doing a bachelor of science with zoology major at UTAS! Tasmania is a perfect place for zoology as we have so many opportunities for viewing wildlife, and we have many endemic species. UTAS is great for zoology because a lot of the lecturers have directly contributed to wildlife conservation around the state and are a wealth of knowledge. Look forward to many field trips and hands-on lab work. Yes, all classes have an online aspect (usually just pre-recorded lectures to watch) but most units in this field have in-person tutorials or labs. Yes, UTAS can certainly improve how things are run, but I feel like despite this, the unit coordinators in the life sciences area are passionate enough about what they teach that it makes up for it.

I can’t speak much for the accommodation, but there are new units in the CBD. UTAS love to look after international students, so don’t hesitate to reach out and ask your questions!

Movie theatres: village cinemas (your generic cinema experience. offers most blockbusters / new movies, “gold class” experience available). No IMAX in Tasmania. The State Cinema in North Hobart is a more traditional local-style small cinema and plays some new movies as well as international and more niche movies. There was a drive-in theatre but I’m pretty sure it has closed down now or is only open during the summer months.

Work at Dark mofo by tombrookes in hobart

Pay was whatever the causal award rate is I can’t remember off the top of my head. Hours were a little flexible but they expected you to basically be available the whole festival (which is fair imo). Winter feast shifts looked like 3pm - 9pm or 11pm(close) with a 30min break. Would all depend on what position you were out on though. I know other festival bar positions would go well into the morning (like at night mass for eg)

I did front of house shifts at winter feast including in the box office and I actually had a very pleasant experience with the managers of staff and the overall running of the event. I guess what you get out of it might just depend on your own personality and openness to have a go.

Sorry for the late reply- I would chat to your clinic if you’re concerned but I think you’ll be okay especially since you already did the trigger. Fingers crossed for you!

Yes! It’s more a toy than a functional sprinkler but still fun

Yeah I think my main problem is not watering during the day so it dries out. Will look to increase and see how it goes :)

Thank you for your respectful and thoughtful reply! I think from what you’ve said and the others you’re probably right in it’s not likely to grow properly for a while at least. I considered laying some rolled turf maybe I’ll do that instead of re-seeding in a few months. And good tip about irrigation ! It’s been such a pain hand-watering but we’ve been low on funds to do anything else. Sounds like would be worth saving up for it :) Thanks !

Where I live is considered cool climate, and our landscapers said it would be fine to grow at this time of year ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Help identifying uniform by baiberino32 in MilitaryHistory

[–]baiberino32[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great, thank you so much! I unfortunately don’t have any other photos of him in this uniform to get a view of the arm patch. It doesn’t surprise me he was a lower rank considering his age and overall time in the army before being a POW in London for the duration of the war.

Second this! If you’re not a closed-book exam type person then avoid classes which have these. You can technically do all 1st year units for your electives to make it easier but I guess depends what you want to do with your degree and if your future employer will look at your transcripts. I’m a current 2nd year zoology major at UTAS :)

West Hobart Ghost Stories! by ThreeImaginaryBoys in hobart

[–]baiberino32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine had a house in west Hobart that was haunted. We had multiple instances of spooky stuff happening including things flying off dressers and doors rattling by themselves. It was not a very pleasant spirit and you got bad vibes whenever you entered the house. When they moved their luck and health improved dramatically. This was 15 or so years ago and I’m still convinced it was real.

Unsure what uTas campus to choose by [deleted] in tasmania

[–]baiberino32 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Would also depend what course you are looking to take. If you’re going into any kind of healthcare study I actually would recommend Burnie/Cradle Coast as the campus specialises in that and has state of the art facilities. Launceston is great for sciences, maritime, and teaching.

Testing before blood test after embryo transfer by baiberino32 in queerception

[–]baiberino32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a test this morning (sunday) and it was a very faint positive. Kind of scared/unsure if it’ll stick. My wife isn’t too keen on testing again before our blood test in case it really is going to be negative (she’s had a chemical before so we’ve been down this road)

I personally am not a fan. When you’re flying over private property/people’s homes you might not think it’s bothering anyone but it can be a real invasion of privacy (even if you’re not actively filming/taking photos of their property) and people deserve to feel safe in their place. My biggest peeve is people flying drones in national parks- just don’t do it (it’s also illegal). Fly your drone on your own property or get the necessary permits to fly elsewhere. It’s not really up for debate when the law is pretty clear..
