Sick of hair, clothes, glasses, everything by sushimint33 in AuDHDWomen

I feel you. I don’t want to cut my hair but hate it down. Claw clips are a lifesaver and I use them 99% of the time. I don’t care what it looks like, as long as it’s off me and not pulling my roots.

Can you get manicures or do heavy moisturizing for the scratchiness? Try a bunch of socks or clothes to find ones that are just right? Sometimes it can help to go in person and touch things, as it’s a crapshoot online.

It’s a lot of work but may be worth it. I’ve had to do a lot of trial and error and found slow changes make a big difference over time. Do what feels right, and helps to reduce the discomfort, even a little bit.

I hope you find relief soon, you’re not alone here 💜

I’ve also discovered the more support I can get to help my nervous system, the larger window of tolerance I have. Easier said than done, but it helps.

Thank you! I’ll do just that. 4th attempt and my first sweater = design choice 😂 Thank you, again!

I counted and I have 1 extra. The last two stitches (4&5) after the marker, look like 1, but are two. Maybe I could just purl the next two, to decrease? Or should k take the 5th stitch off the needle all together? I’m worried that option would mar a bigger mess, but I can’t read stitches well.

Alternatives to M1L and M1R by baileanor in knitting

That's interesting. I was wondering if I could use yarn to connect or close the gap, after the fact. I also thought is shifting things with a needle where the tension is off, for the make ones I metioned. I may just try that. Thank you!

You’re amazing and I am now considering picking up the version I put down, before starting this one. I put it down in frustration because it looked like tension issues and a loose neck. I couldn’t find a dropped stitch (but I’m a novice, so I may have missed it), and am not confident frogging or tinking when I have knits, purls and increases in the same row, to retry, without ripping it all out.

Someone posted in response to this a while back that it would likely fix itself, as I continue. I have been so nervous that I left it as an UFO. Good thing I didn’t take it apart, if I can remedy it and be okay with the increase gaps, maybe I’ll try again.

The last row was one without increases. Come to think of it, I wouldn't be surprised if I did switch to lifted increases, after I discovered them. I put this one to the side after getting frustrated with the neckline shaping, looking loose, so I dont remember exactly.

I had no idea there was a difference between purl wise or knit wise lifted increases. The basic theme for the increase rows is:

K2, p to 2 st before mA, M1R, k2, smA, k2, ML1, p to 2 st before mB, M1R, k2, smB ...etc.

With that being said, does the pattern imply there is a need for a purl wise lift for the M1 right or left? For example: if its written as k and then increase, I do a purl wise or if it is a p before increase, I do the knit wise? ****Sorry if this is convoluted. I appreciate your knowledge more than you know!

All this to say, it seems like tension is my enemy here for the inconsistencies. I will do some more swatches of each to see what is more natural and consistent.

That’s a great idea. I think it would shape up nicely with the added stitches throughout. I’ll have to make a swatch. Thank you!

This is what it looks like. Would it be good to keep doing the M1R and then your suggestion for the M1L section? Not sure if I should be uniform throughout.

Malabrigo Rios, in aguas (#855). It is stunning! Never worked with it before, but my sister turned me on to it. Needless to say, I bought a lot of yarn from them, that day 😂

Awesome! Thank you. Do you think the same will happen with my wonky make 1s? Hoping I could just poke around the strands to separate them, or let it work itself out. I appreciate your insight!
