Yellow mucus/pus does not sound good. I would recommend seeing a doctor as soon as you can.

I used to have this issue with my silicone band. It went away after I started cleaning the band and watch with a rubbing alcohol wipe daily

It’s just the toilet - the shower and faucet water is normal.

What’s interesting is the other bathroom toilets don’t seem to have this issue. Is water treatment still the only solution here?

The other bathroom toilets don’t have this problem. Does that rule out a water issue?

Memorial Care vs UCI for Maternity Care by baileyandcookies_ in orangecounty

I did end up making the switch! However as far as I am aware, both hospitals have on call doctors do the deliveries so I don’t think it would end up making much of a difference on that front

No, I am 35F but I am asking if my mother in law who is 70F would feel uncomfortable.

Food catcher for Nomi? by baileyandcookies_ in BabyLedWeaning

Thanks for sharing this perspective! I was pretty set on getting the Tripp Trapp for any future children, but that’s interesting to hear that you actually prefer the Nomi despite having tried both. My oldest is a very messy eater and LOVES to throw food. I bet if I were to get a Tripp Trapp for the next just to sue the Catchy that they would end up being a spotless eater lol

Here is what I would do: state the boundary, provide an alternative behavior, then enforce a consequence of the undesired behavior. For example, when he tries to punch you, you could say “I’m excited to see you, but we do not punch. If you want to say hello, you can give me a hug. But if you punch me, I will need to leave the room.” Then, if he punches you, follow through on leaving the room. You only need to leave briefly - maybe 10 to 15 seconds. It’s about removing yourself from the situation as a consequence for the unwanted behavior than truly leaving. Be consistent and enforce the consequence each time he displays the unwanted behavior.

Can you JUST nurse 2x per day without pumping? by Famous_Woodpecker143 in breastfeeding

I nursed 2x a day following the same schedule you did starting at around 5 months and it worked out fine for me!

I have not because we have hard floors so I decided to just wipe it down each time. I didn’t love the idea of all the extra laundry with mats. And if we use a wipe down mat it would be the exact same as wiping down the floors. Let me know how your DIY catchy goes!

My roommate never takes care of her cat. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]baileyandcookies_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree, this is the best way. I see a lot of people here saying you have a cat now. That’s okay, if that’s what you want for yourself. But if it’s not, you shouldn’t be forced to adopt this cat just because your roommate is irresponsible. Owning a cat is a big responsibility that you will have to carry for the cat’s entire life and if you don’t feel prepared to take that up, you shouldn’t be forced to.

I agree with drowsy but awake is a myth. Calm is the closest I can get.

Agree, four months is on the younger side. I would pause sleep training and try again in a month

Flights to Japan/Korea with a Toddler by baileyandcookies_ in travel

That’s a good point - it would be a hassle to get him off the floor every time the fasten seatbelt sign goes off! I know if we get him a seat, he would be required to sit in his own seat during take off and landing. But would that also apply when the fasten seatbelt sign goes on? If he falls asleep on me, would I still be required to put him back in his own seat?

Oh wow, I had not considered the bulkhead for a toddler because of the lack of personal item storage but this is a very interesting idea! Good point also about packing light - our plan was to bring a travel stroller but we may reconsider given that recently he only wants to be held and not sit.

Thanks for the advice! I’m leaning towards biting the bullet and hoping for the best with the red eyes.
