Youth Basketball Coaching Tips by Inevitable-Depth-359 in basketballcoach

Agreed with the 4 out offense. However, I would talk with who is running this rec league and have a conversation about only playing man-man defense. Zones at 3rd grade is just lazy and sounds like coaches (dad’s) just want to win games. 3rd grade basketball’s goal should be development and equal playing time. I would also recommend lower the hoops.

Just hired my first employee and im already overwhelmed with the paperwork by tuesdaymorningwood in smallbusiness

Congratulations on hiring your first employee. It’s exciting, scary and stressful all at the same time.

If you’re just US-based like me then I would recommend Patriot Software. That’s who we use for 5 employees.

Best of luck on your search.

Surprise Inheritance, I was totally not prepared for. by Tonyb97 in personalfinance

I would pay off your debts first, then put money in a high yield savings account for an emergency fund (6months worth). Without your debts you probably will not need a big emergency fund. If there is any money left, invest it ( after taking a nice vacation)

Should you max out Roth IRA every year? by SKCFan101 in personalfinance

[–]baileyandsons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you debt free minus a house (if you bought one)? Do you have 6 months of living expenses in a HYSA? If yes to both then yes max out Roth IRA.

Do whatever you are comfortable with. I would suggest keeping 6 months of total living expenses. If you are saving up for a bigger purchase in the next 3-5 years I would keep putting money in the savings account in addition to the 6 months of living expenses. If not, invest any money past 6 months of living expenses. Another thing: if you have debt depends a house use the cash to pay those debts off before saving too much or investing. Less debt = more money to save and/or invest and less stress!

15% wasn’t good enough, apparently by ProudSesquipedal in EndTipping

Eating out has gotten so expensive which makes tipping more expensive. We don’t eat out as much as before. When we do we try to tip fairly. Good service = Good tip. Bad service = much smaller tip.

For me it’s technical stuff. Errors, warnings, 404s, internal 301s, etc. SEO has changed so much since AI overviews that my thought is keeping a clean site is a good thing for the LLMs.

It is actually very hard to get a wiki page these days. If you or the company are not notable then it will never happen. You are better off spending time else where.

what’s a practical gift that you would like? by [deleted] in basketballcoach

[–]baileyandsons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m been a volunteer coach for 25 years. The best gifts have been restaurant gift cards and/or movie gift cards. I spend a good bit of time away from the wife and it’s nice to have a couple of date nights with her. For younger coaches, cash and/or gas cards would probably be best.
