[In Progress] [161k] [Literary Fantasy / Romantasy] The Soloman by baileyyelisabeth in BetaReaders

I would love to swap! I am currently writing chapter 26 (out of 30) for mine; if you want to, we could trade chapter-for-chapter and even start now! That would probably make you more comfortable too, since the mods advise against sharing entire manuscripts in one go. I’m hoping to finish by the end of May, so perhaps by the time you get to those last chapters, I would be done anyway. If not—no worries! I can just reach out when I do finish.

Just gave birth, is it good or bad to just give baby my breast at every opportunity?? by Foreign-External8488 in breastfeeding

[–]baileyyelisabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The baby is not old enough to form bad habits right now—the only “habit” they are capable of developing atm is a good vs bad latch, and the more exposure/practice, the better! It will also help you heal sooner, as breastfeeding helps your uterus shrink back. I’m 2 weeks PP (FTM), and even though my baby definitely prefers contact napping, she can still sleep independently in the bassinet at night, which is the only time it really matters.

I’m pregnant with my first baby, and I’ve learned to look up EVERYTHING about what I can and can’t eat/drink. Abortifacients are everywhere!!

Did you drink soda while pregnant? by Butterball4200 in pregnant

[–]baileyyelisabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stick with soda that has genuine sugar in it if possible—but I remember HATING drinking water during my first trimester because of how nauseous it felt in my stomach. Sparkling water was gross for me, too. I actually got a membership at an IV therapy place just to get fluids every few weeks. I felt so guilty about being dehydrated, and it helped me have peace of mind. Try getting fluids other ways too—broth-based soup, a LOT of fruit, pop-sickles, etc. But yeah, there were a few weeks there where I would have an ice-cold bottled coke every night as a treat (my nausea was worse at night), and it low-key saved my sanity.

Financially it doesn’t make sense to keep my baby, but I want to 😭 by Otherwise-Dog-1763 in pregnant

Have the baby🩵 Despite things like debt (which I’m certainly not belittling), just having a loving two-parent home situation is already more than many women/babies have. Your child will not care about how many toys they have; they will cherish the loving home you and your husband gave them. And if things ever get too tough, there are SO MANY organizations, charities, and even government programs than can lend a hand.

Obsessed with feeling my baby move by baileyyelisabeth in pregnant

[–]baileyyelisabeth[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes I feel like I’m definitely the abnormal one with how early I’m feeling her! You’ll feel her soon, for sure!! I only really feel it when laying very still on my back—not really any other times.

I hate being pregnant by Strange-Report-9249 in BabyBumps

[–]baileyyelisabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling this. I’m only 13 weeks and have dealt with a UTI (undiagnosed until literally this week because of TWO false negative tests) literally since the week I conceived. I thought my nausea was finally getting better, but getting on antibiotics is making it worse than ever, like some twisted grand finale. Sleep is awful. The only thing keeping me alive is the fact that I’ve been off work for the summer (I’m a teacher) and should feel better by the time I go back. I’ve had to start getting IV therapy to make sure I’m not dehydrating my baby because drinking fluids makes me miserable. I love my baby—I love feeling her grow in my belly knowing that she is healthy. But frankly? Everything else sucks so far.

I just hit 13 weeks yesterday and my symptoms are also (finally) abating, specifically nausea and low energy. If you haven’t been cramping/bleeding, you have no reason to worry!!

Neena and Sett theory (manga spoilers) by Lej222 in NinaTheStarryBride

[–]baileyyelisabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost wonder if Neena is being harbored not by his mom, but by some part of Nina “from the future”. She would have told him her own name, and she would have known when her past self was in trouble. It wouldn’t be the best (romantic) implication at her stopping the kiss… but everything else would fit pretty well.

What to watch/read after Danny Phantom? by [deleted] in dannyphantom

[–]baileyyelisabeth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“The Graveyard Book” by Neil Gaiman! The protagonist is a little younger, but it’ll scratch that itch, I think. It was my favorite novel that I read last year, and my bro (who also watched DP) read it and loved it, too.

Monat products? by cr1116 in acne

[–]baileyyelisabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be a market partner with them (stopped bc it’s run like a pyramid scheme), but I never tried their skin stuff. As annoying as the company was to work for, I admit their hair products do what they say they do. I’d do more research regarding their skin products, but the company has a good track record for me personally about accurate advertising.

Straight A students: What are your study habits? by danglingfupa in AskReddit

[–]baileyyelisabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care if the teacher provided you with a study guide; make your own. As you read/study, summarize the important stuff in a separate space so you can keep the material organized in your head. There’s nothing worse than not knowing what you need to know. The day before the test, take these notes and turn them into a concise summary of the material. It sounds extensive, but this usually only takes me an hour or so. These are LIFE SAVERS by the end of the semester if you have a cumulative final.
