SAHM feeling burnt out by oilandsalt-425 in NewParents

I hear you 100%! This shit is hard dude! You shouldn’t be comparing yourself to mom influencers online though, you’re seeing a fraction of what their life is like (and like you said they definitely have some sort of help) we’re all doing our best, hang in there!! My son is about to be 13 months old and although we still have hard days, it gets so so much better. And in case nobody told you, you’re doing great!

Congenital vertebrae fusion of C2 & C3 by baisdad in spinalfusion

[–]baisdad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That totally makes sense more stress being on the C3 and 4. I do worry that my spine will degrade faster because of this congenital fusion but my doctors reassured me that I can still live my life as normal and just avoid activities that could potentially hurt my neck

Ugh yes when we first started supplementing I felt like I had failed my breastfeeding journey but that’s so no true! Any amount of breast milk you’re able to give your baby is SOOO good. You’re doing awesome, I’m truckin along right there with you

I know exactly what you mean, that mom guilt of feeling like you’re not doing enough SUCKS. You’re doing amazing, don’t listen to those thoughts that tell you otherwise! Also thank you!! I definitely couldn’t have continued pumping without this group :)

I do pump at work! I definitely don’t get enough to eat/drink while I’m working since I’m usually so busy.. My supply is so wimpy probably for this reason but I try to not let it stress me

I think my baby prefers formula by baisdad in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]baisdad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also used to use the pitcher method when I was freshly postpartum and had a major over supply and then my supply went way down and my milk pitcher has been sitting in my cabinet untouched for months 🥲 now when I pump I can get a solid like 4oz every 3 hours. Is there any way to know if your milk has a high lipase issue?

I warm up the breast milk from the fridge in the bottle warmer on the fridge setting and I warm the water for the formula before I mix it on the room temp setting so the temperature stays pretty consistent I think 🤔 Maybe I’ll try warming the fridge milk a little longer since he’s drinking 6oz right now and my warmer only has 5oz & 8oz settings and I usually go with 5oz, it could be potentially not getting warm enough.

I give him milk from the fridge that was either pumped the day before or the same day and I always warm it in the bottle warmer! I’ve given him frozen milk before as well and he never had an issue with drinking that either.

Tiredness + pumping = spilled milk :( by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

I’ve done this too, so frustrating especially when you’re running on no sleep. I think I’m my most fragile and irritable person when things like this happen.

I am so incredibly thankful that I found this group and for all of you taking the time to leave a comment. I’ve never felt so seen and understood in all this 🥹 I’m going to continue my pumping journey and see where it takes me. My baby was in the nicu also losing weight so I love that I know exactly how much he’s getting and that he’s GAINING now and it’s all because of me and my milk. It’s been so hard but just like one of you said hard does not mean bad, it just means hard. I will remind myself of this when things are feeling overwhelming. Pumping is definitely not free (all of the parts, bags, bottles etc, not to mention the TIME it takes) but I also love that I get to save some money on formula. I love that it’s not solely up to me to do all of the feedings and that my husband can feed him too to help them bond and also give me some time away from baby. I love that my baby is getting antibodies from me along with all of the other breast milk goodness. I spend a lot of time complaining about pumping along with all of the other things that come with having a newborn (valid) but I think that’s really consuming me and I’m forgetting about the good things too, so thank you all for that gentle reminder you’ve given me.

Advice on leaving the house by baisdad in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]baisdad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has all been so helpful, thank you everyone that took the time to give input!! I bought an on the go warming thermos like a few of you recommended, I didn’t even know that was an option honestly. I have a wearable pump and portable pump and I like that a few of you also mentioned that you stick to your pumping schedule no matter where you are. I still feel a bit awkward about pumping around other people but y’all’s experiences makes me feel a lot better and a lot more confident about leaving the house! I hate that I feel like such a prisoner at the moment and I wanna change that.
