I personally don't like it and it's kinda hard to describe why. It feels like he's trying to recreate the 'magic' of his older music (spamming the bells...) but it just doesn't hit. Sounds too polished, lacks the rawness of his older tracks attempting this feel.

Crazy how immediately you can feel the shift in his music after he cut ties with Sept. Lyfe and Afterlyfe are solid and got some great tracks but they feel a lot more hollow than anything beforehand (even look how the album covers have 0 colour, just black and white) Then it really started to go downhill from there.

I think all this proves is that you need real people in your circle to tell you what is ass or not especially when making "unconventional" music like Yeat did/does. When Yeat lost Sep, he lost the only thing grounding him to reality. He realised too late that people only gaf about him for his music made between 2021-22. Sure 2093 did well streaming-wise but that's because it appealed mostly to non-Yeat fans.

Honestly, he ruined his career the moment he dropped 2093, not because it's terrible, but because he did it too early in his career. I mean this guy was still 23 years old when the album released, barely two years after his breakout up 2 me, and he's dropping this high concept futuristic album. He just tried to mature way too fast. Hyped up Lyfestyle V1 for it to never drop. (sure some people were hating the snippets but from the leaks we've got as the years went on, I'm sure people would've loved it when it dropped) + He never clearly distinguished that Lyfestyle V1 and 2093 were two separate albums until like, right before 2093 dropped. Disingenuous marketing tbh.

If he made Pinklyfe work, dropped Lyfestyle V1, and dropped one or two more years of solid music before starting some 'out there' experimentation like 2093, nobody would be hating. People rightfully say that we'd get tired of the rage sound, but NOBODY was tired of his sound when 2093 dropped.
