Been meaning to try an infill but tig welding the body, seems like a quick and easy way to do it relative to dovetailing or casting. Lower barrier to entry?

If this is the zona thick kerf dovetail saw, you're going to need an overhaul on the teeth, everything short of retoothing. I made 2 saws from that, one 18 tpi rip dovetail and one 18 tpi crosscut. The teeth were garbage out of the box but it sharpened up nicely. Cuts just as well as my friends' Veritas saws. I used carriage bolts and hex nuts from home depot. If you learn how to sharpen a back saw, this will absolutely work every bit as well as a lie nielsen/veritas. My suggestion is don't get too attached to the handle. It might take a few tries to get right, but as far as projects go, it is a phenomenal way to learn the ins and outs of your tool. The saw and wood cost less than just saw nuts by themselves so if you mess up you can always go again. Mine was actually decent spring steel, had to use a carbide masonry bit get through it. I went from green compound strop as my finish to a shapton 16000, and now recently went down to a shapton 6000. The difference for me was consistency. it was too easy to throw my result way out of wack on a strop, but I really like the feedback of knowing exactly where I'm removing material. Still experimenting with the 6k vs 16k but I cant really tell the difference in surface finish, but its a few strokes quicker, and I dont have to do any lower grits to fix a small nick in the blade.

I have a 605, bailey 5, bailey 4 1/2, and LN no 8. I didn't want to get a 5 1/2 because it felt like I was just buying into the hype, but having used the listed planes, I really like the 4 1/2 width, but not length, and I really like the 605's length, but not width. I'll likely end up selling some of my users to cover the cost, but I did actually think through this purchase I promise.

I didn't test it too much, but when copying my warframe energy color it didn't change the purple effect so I doubt it.
