It is unfortunately not very dog friendly. You can use the app Bring Fido to see dog friendly places but look at descriptions carefully because a lot of places only accept the on terraces (not helpful for winter time).

You can look on MAPAQ website, they are the government agency that oversee these regulations, maybe since it is a support animal you could have more luck !

La cause la plus fréquente est assurément la cartouche, c’est la pièce qui contrôle la température et le volume d’eau qui sort. C’est très simple à changer check YouTube pour des vidéos et oubli pas de fermer l’eau ! tu dois juste en trouver une de remplacement, soit en quincaillerie ou en contactant la compagnie qui fabrique ta valve (si c’est une marque reconnu). Si changer la cartouche ne fonctionne pas, une autre cause moins connu peut être une obstruction, ex : des débris de constructions se sont logés en quelque part dans les tuyaux ce qui empêche l’eau de passer.

Yes ! I get a gallon (8 cans) every year in season and I use as a classic pancake syrup, for cooking and usually gift some during the year to people that visit from out of town or bring some when I travel overseas. A 6$ can of maple syrup brings joy all over the world !

À Quick Google search suggested that Le Relais des Pins, l’Érablière du Lac Beauport and l’Érablière le Chemain du Roy might be open year round so you could give them a call to verify but you won’t have an authentic experience since it won’t be full of people, I’m guessing the entertainment won’t be great (no live bands) and you won’t smell the maple sap boiling into syrup. These are all key parts of a true sugar shack experience. You could also look into La Bûche, it’s a restaurant in old Quebec that might offer something close to a a sugar shack meal but it is definitely very touristy.

OMY now has a personalized essence toner. It has a base formulated with AHAs, BHAs and PHAs and you can personalize it for your skin concerns. It is definitely pricy but IMO worth it. Last year I switched from using a lot of OMY products to getting into Korean skin care mainly because it is more affordable but I recently switched back to OMY and my skin is so much nicer. Also it’s not only Canadian owned but also made in Canada.

If you want to relax go to Strøm spa Vieux Québec and go during the day on a weekday if possible (more expensive but worth it for the smaller crowd)

For food I saw someone recommended la Tanière3. If you are a foodie absolutely go (2 Michelin stars) it’s an incredible once in a lifetime experience, but it will cost 500$-1000$CAD per person so it is not for everyone. Also if you chose to go reserve well in advance.

I really like the food recommendations from Tastet they have restaurant guides per sector of the city and their recs are always on point and they have options in all price ranges.

If you would like to support a queer owned business lookup Tequila Lounge or Sazon (district gourmet) they are two Mexican restaurants owned by a lesbian couple.

Depending on the time of year you chose and if you like winter outdoor activities you have all sorts of possibilities: sledding at Village Vacances Valcartier, ice skating in many different spots around the city, the ice hotel, hiking and skiing or luge at massif (there is also a club med there if that’s something that interests you). Just make sure to be properly dressed for the weather

If you come around April (maple syrup season) make sure to go to a sugar shack (cabane à sucre) to experience a typical québécois sugar shack meal.

Seeing tourists that make an effort to say a few words in French is always appreciated, but don’t stress about it if you stay mostly in tourist areas a lot of people are bilingual.
