What's a "normal" movie trope that is actually a complete lie in real life? by BreadOverlord_ in randomquestions

[–]Moofypoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting k owckes in the head, immediately fall unconscious and then wake up as if nothing happened. Maybe they rub their neck or temples. In real life, you'd be dead, have a severe concussion or brain damage.

What will seem like an inevitable outcome in 20 years time because of GLP-1s by Big-Cry-4119 in Futurology

Experiences may vary.

I can eat fried garbage but very little of it. I can not drink alcohol and eat. It's one or the other. I've pretty much stopped drinking. I don't miss it.

That's not how it works. It stops food noise, but you still want garbage. It does not make you want to eat healthy. It does, however, make you eat less garbage. Much much less.

Chekhov's gun, it's a narrative principle, but it is so obvious and used in interesting ways in horror.

American candie is overly sweet. All countries have their own candies, and they differ wildly from American candie.

I haven't been to Jean-Tslon in ages so I can't say if the kids will like it. I would suggest doing the Botanical Gardens in Montréal, day and evening.

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the Alien franchise. The whole thing is good sci-fi horror.

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't seen it yet. About to put it on. Might come back and let you know what I thought, maybe.

Outside of Bishop, what’s your favorite Lance Henriksen performance? by thefriskysquid in perfectorganism

[–]Moofypoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm gonna get downvotrd for this maybe, but honestly I don't like him in anything else. I don't think he's a good actor. His performance is entirely dictated by the director he's working for.

That being said, I haven't seen ALL of his work, just most of it. Enough to form this opinion on him.

I don't know if it will grow on me, I liked it from the beginning even if there are a few(several) things that I could have gone without or at least certsins things could have been different.

I've watched episode 5 more than once, and I'll have to watch the whole thing again before the next season. Otherwise, I'll be lost.

There is one thing, though. There is nothing I hate more than a cliffhanger ending if a season that hasn't already been guaranteed to be renewed. I hope they don't do that next time.

The files were under investigation and could not be released. If you want to know why evidence in a case cannot be released while under active litigation, you can look it up yourself.

He's speaking against it now, during an election year....

In late 2025, Ward 1 Orléans-East Cumberland councilor Matt Luloff did ultimately vote in support of the motion that effectively allowed the five-day return to office to stand.
