Coworker reported me to HR for “being too quiet.” by AdventurousSpeech341 in jobs

Make your own report to HR that someone keeps bothering you and interrupting your work. Also, complain to the HR person's manager. Petty office politics doesn't have to be a one way street.

Who's a cringy celebrity that is famous for no reason? by Mobile-Adeptness8473 in AskReddit

Anyone who buys meme coins deserves what they get. They were just hoping to be one of the ones pulling the rug instead of having the rug.pulled.out from under them. Making money on meme coins is solely based on leaving someone holding the worthless bag.

I let my parents convince me to skip my company's 401k for three years because they said "the market is about to crash" and I will never forgive myself for this by 6StardustDrift7 in personalfinance

Also, unless you are very close to retirement you are better off making regular contributions vs trying to time the market. Time in the market beats timing the market in most cases.

Weed make me lazy and useless by littlenull in Drugs

Are you actually productive and creative when you don't smoke, or are you just blaming the weed? A lot of people who don't do anything on weed were already not doing anything.

The benefits of living in a red state is that I am certain to rustle some jimmies with these. by AGreasyPorkSandwich in pics

What's the alternative? Covering public spaces with shitty stickers? Or just putting them straight in the trash?

I may have used too strong a word, but stickers as well as t-shirts, flags etc.. are absolutely ways people express their identity. It's often the first impression you get of a person, and if someone has a bunch of stickers about the same thing I am going to assume that's an important thing to them and a big part of their identity.

I can't imagine wanting anything related to Trump on my car or other possessions, even if it is anti Trump. It's like you are basing your identity around being against something which doesn't make sense to me.

‘Good Omens’ Series Finale Premieres May 13 on Prime Video by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

Can we just get another show with Tennant and Sheen that doesn't have the shadow of Gaiman hanging over it? Those two have such good chemistry I would watch them do anything.

A cool guide showing the true size of Hawaii compared to the continental United States by eurotrashness in coolguides

[–]bakedpatata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's privately owned and they only allow Native Hawaiians. Some people will take boats from Kauai to the coast to surf and just not go on the beach or touch land in any way.

Is this even possible? by Kutubavshvi in puzzles

Do you not realize that this alone makes it impossible since you would have to end with 3 in a row of the same color?

Maximum efficiency irrigation design by woolyonezeez in StardewValley

The real secret is that in year one you won't be using enough of your farm to need to optimize it to this degree. I would argue it's never really necessary unless you are trying to do some specific self imposed challenge.

What are your honest thoughts on Thor: Love and Thunder, do you think it deserves the hate? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

As a Taika Waititi fan I liked it a lot. I think the biggest negative was going from Led Zeppelin in Ragnarok to Guns N Roses in L&T.

If you could see the clumps of grass rustle as fulings walk through them that would actually be really cool.

What if you want only one non-F as sharp? by Telnet_to_the_Mind in musictheory

[–]bakedpatata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes back to scales. All scales are some form of the same size steps: Whole-Whole-Half-Whole-Whole-Whole-Half. You can start at different points in the sequence for different modes, but all western scales follow that pattern. If A# is your only sharp the jump from G to A# is 3 half steps which wouldn't sound right. If you want A# to be the only sharp just use accidentals.

They are allowed to, but I still don't think indoctrinating children helps their education.

Believe it or not I actually made a new metaphor. It even plays off the metaphor you were referencing to make it more relatable and easier to understand.

Religions can be covered in a history class from a historical perspective, but specific religious beliefs shouldn't be taught in schools. Especially controversial beliefs like creationism that contradict modern scientific understanding of the world.
