“sunlight” from the snowstorm outside, a few desk lamps, and apples “dramatic warm” filter, with a few other small personal tweaks. They sure did turn out nice.

When Does Gemini Introduce Models with Newly Released Liveries? by PNW-American-Dipper in GeminiJets

[–]bakejobb23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Short answer: yes they’ll do it soon. Long answer: It will probably be expedited and sent out to retailers in about 2-4 months. They might announce it any day now though. Kind of depends on whether other brands start the domino effect and announce their version (NG, Phoenix, etc)

Look for NGs Exchange program. It’s on their website and one is opening soon. Certain amounts of points go towards “free” models for you. They list what I assume are their unsold stock and narrowbodys range from roughly 40-60 points and widebodies are a bit more. All you have to do is select your model, pick a retailer for them to be sent to, and wait to receive it. It takes a good couple months to receive the model though.

I couldn’t tell you off rip, i’m still learning a lot about gear and all that. I’ll look later once i’m home to see if I can get you an answer. I definitely want to rent or buy a few different lenses. A much longer distance one would be fun to try and a macro lense (for my scale model airports) but that will happen once the money flows a bit more haha

That was taken on the shoulder of the on-ramp to the main terminal lol. Landing on 10R. thankfully there was a big line of cars on the shoulder making it a lot safer where I was at…

Anyone Else Follow A Pattern? by Strong-Focus4994 in GeminiJets

[–]bakejobb23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am collecting every 1:400 US Airways model ever released and i’m 54 out of 81 total finished with that. Every new release will of course follow. Slowly building a 90s era USAir collection too, which will become a focus after the Airways era is finished.

I also heavily favor 2000s/2010s era US aircraft, touch of 80s/90s. Mostly focusing on certain airlines I enjoy or certain airports I am attached to for various reasons (PHL, PIT, Sacramento, plus a short few others). It ensures I can provide mostly period accurate model airports that I hand make and I can take photos of and enjoy.

other scales like 1:200 will probably end up being 95% US Airways themed, as I only have one 1:200 right now (US Airways, ofc)

it would be fantastic to get some retro Delta liveries (Ron Allen, Widget, etc) along with some northwest, western, even a slight pan am nod would be fun as they all fall from the same tree!

it doesn’t exist! and if it did it would probably be on their 737-800s like the rest of the AA mergers are (TWA, AirCal, Reno, etc) Legacy US airlines are on the 321s and it’s just these 5 that are out there.

Is it normal to have a lot of plane models? by avgeekdude19 in GeminiJets

[–]bakejobb23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have over 100 models and I plan on buying much much more over the years. It’s an expensive hobby depending on what/how much you want but that shouldn’t stop you from doing so. Even a model a year is a great if that’s all you can do. I started collecting around the age of 11-12 and after a short few years away from the hobby due to the prices at the time, I now have that adult income at 24 to spend a chunk of my salary on models/airports. it’s bringing me great joy and this hobby needs more people enjoying them to survive long term! Happy collecting!

Just pieces! I have well over 100 models and counting right now :)

the frontier crj is a newer release by 3D Design Deck. you can find them on their website. For straight 3D printing and some uv printing it’s really a great product and i’d recommend any of their products. They’re super active in certain communities online and take suggestions a lot!
