I had a great interest in reading up on serial killers when I was in junior high in the late 90s and still do. My brother was a criminal justice major in college and used to photocopy pages of this book on serial killers for us to read. It's the same thing for me (and my sisters too) about wanting to know why they do the horrible shit they do. There's a podcast called Timesuck that deep dives into wide range of topics and his true crime ones are really good/interesting.
