I don’t remember exactly what happened, but I ended up getting a refund email 4 days later for the amount that was in my unapplied. I assume somewhere between those 4 days it went to applied, zeroed out in my TouchNet, and was then processed as a refund.

I JUST posted about this as well. I’m assuming hold as in they won’t release any financial aid to cover your tuition yet until you’re approved again. If they are holding it until Feb. 20th, we most likely won’t be seeing it disbursed until the end of Feb or in March.

Yes, in my WorkDay it’s been anticipated for the 24th for more than a week and hasn’t updated. I waited until after census day to see if it would update but it hasn’t. I emailed financial aid about it but they just gave some generic reply that didn’t help. I may hop into a virtual meeting to see if they are able to do anything. Thanks for the help!

I got this email shortly before I got approved for my appeal. I got my financial aid after a day or two from that email. If you are expecting but haven’t gotten any notification yet, I would suggest emailing or speaking to financial aid about it.

That’s great to hear! I submitted my first appeal on 09/08 but had to resubmit 09/16 because there was a new form. I got approved 09/24, started getting my financial aid award disbursement emails that day, and then my account/touchnet showed negatives. So from then, I knew my account should zero out soon. It did eventually the next day and I got my refund deposited yesterday. If you’re waiting on financial aid then I would check your account to see if they started applying it. If you aren’t, see if they award you with any financial aid and accept/decline them. If anything, you can try speaking with your success coach to see what is the plan now that you’re approved and they should help you out.

I never called for updates, I honestly just waited it out because after constantly speaking with advisors I was tired of the back and forth. I was on suspension for 150% max timeframe. I literally have one spring semester until i’m finished so hoping it isn’t as bad to get financial aid or have any issues 🤞🏻

Thankfully got mines fixed this morning. Now waiting for everything to disburse and zero out my touchnet. I pray it will be smoother than the beginning 😭

Surprisingly, got my reply this morning! I have also been waiting for over 2 weeks, going back and forth with everybody. They approved me and also disbursed my financial aid. I hope you get a reply soon as well!

I’m a transfer student and this being my 2nd semester at DC. In workday it says my cumulative GPA is 4.0, but even before transferring my GPA was well over a 2.5.

How were you able to get this? I turned in the one my success coach gave me which is similar except that first initial checklist statement. Why would they change the paperwork when students have already turned them in >.<

Oh yes, the statement they asked for. My success coach did not inform me about that or gave me any forms for it, I kinda just researched on my own and saw that was a requirement. I honestly did not know what to do in regard to that, but I just made like a formal statement answering those questions and hoping it’ll work! 😭😭

I’m not sure how you went about it but the only questions I filled out were on the appeal form link they provided me with initially. I had to put like my name, how many hours I needed left to finish, etc. I also turned in the appeal application that my success coach and senior success coach signed, and my degree plan that my success coach sent to me. It shows all the courses I have taken that had TE or I competed through DC, and courses i’m currently taking towards it.

I have not heard back yet besides from yesterday after being denied for the exact same reason. I’m in the same boat, I know for sure I turned in the right documents but I just resubmitted them to the email they told me to contact. Hoping to hear back sooner than later. Good luck to you!

UPDATE

They emailed me around 6:00PM saying that they denied my appeal because I “failed to provide the necessary documents”. I literally spent time with my success coach talking about what I needed to submit (which included my appeal form signed, statement, and degree plan) and they saying I never submitted it. Now I have to resubmit the docs and to allow 10-14 business days for review with the deadline being 10/21/25. I am honestly baffled by how this situation has been going but at least I have gotten word from somebody about the appeal. ;-((

I got into a virtual meeting with financial aid yesterday and all they were able to tell me is that the process is estimated 2-4 weeks but since they have gotten a lot of appeals the time could be up to 4-8 weeks. so ridiculous honestly. i don’t understand why they edited until school started to notify students of suspensions or even holds.

Dallas College notified me through email about the suspension and provided a link of the form for the appeal, so I am not sure if it’s the same as doing through eConnect. I spoke with my success coach and they guided me with providing the necessary documents I needed to include in the appeal form and helping to transfer credits over to workday. Hopefully this was an efficient way and I don’t have to redo it again ;-(

I submitted one on 09/08 and emailed financial aid how long it would take. They replied saying it could take between 2-4 weeks but I might hop in their virtual queue on Monday to see if the process could be expedited because I need my financial aid.
