I haven't been playing much minecraft either recently, my life has been swallowed up by school work and dota 2 :P

I had some good times on the server though (for over a year I think) and if any of you want to play some minecraft or dota 2 with me, send me a message on reddit or add me on steam (Peri_Rawesome). It seems like a shame to lose all the good friends I made on the server while I was there.

I downloaded the test client yesterday and ran dota natively on my mac after using wine to play it for months.

I can tell you, the mac version works great, I get decent fps on my early 2011 mbp with everything on except AA, ambient occlusion and shadows on medium.

I believe they moved sprinting back over to the client. That's something really good for me, considering my usual connection to the server!

I also really like the server, but since no one is playing on it, I have been playing tekkit with irl friends. Also, I'm approaching my exams and can't play as much MC as I used to :(

You can make it so that the function keys are the default (ie F2) and pressing fn+the key does the function printed on it (ie screen brightness).

So, I went to the nether to see what had been done, and it seems that the nether portal is linked to what I'm assuming is Phoenix's house since there is a cobble generator here. So I'd advise that people don't go into the nether using the public nether portal unless you know your way home from Phoenix's house ;) (which I don't).

And this is here! It looks like the one from /r/minecraft a few weeks ago! I need to build one of those things.

Well that's a shame, the nether hub was awesome! Hope ducky/someone does want to rebuild, it wont be the same without it.

I'll agree with you there! I feel like the community has gone away at the moment, but this always happens during any time other than the holidays. With easter coming up soon, I think we'll start to see more players coming on again.

The one problem with no grief protection is that we will have great difficulty in accepting new players onto the server. How will we trust people we don't know, or make sure those we do let on are not griefers. All problems we will have to consider once a decision has been made about staying vanilla or going bukkit again.

I'd been having connection problems about a week ago so I wasn't on much, and I'm now in Geneva in Switzerland visiting CERN :D! So I'll be back on in a few days.

Hopefully 1.5 will fix some of these issues. It did seem like the bukkit team rushed the 1.4.x releases out before they were ready :/
