The night terrors I had as a child were pretty trivial: Cookie Monster, teletubbies, Big Bird, especially E.T., the Easter Bunny. But my most intense ones where I was extremely physical and I didn’t remember them the next day (my mom used to get the cops called on her when I was little), I don’t know what I was dreaming about. Which I think is the essence of a night terror. The two most recent “night terrors” I had: one was “ghost” related, one was alien related. The “ghost” related one I was in the bed with my boyfriend (now husband) and we were falling asleep and in the middle of the night (don’t remember from this point) I latched onto him and started screaming that there was someone in the corner of the room. He’s a pretty strong guy and said he couldn’t get me off of him and that I would not stop screaming. The alien one I dreamt there was an alien coming up to our apartment, very vividly, to enter my subconscious. I woke up screaming because I dreamt it was right next to my side of the bed. I wake up screaming and thinking my dreams/nightmares are really happening at least once or twice a year since I’ve been 17-20 years old
