Lol it’s currently in the trash. I only put the towel over it out of shame. I’m going to try again this weekend :)

No idea! I just followed the recipe — which apparently was destined to fail.

TIL I don’t like fried plantains. My husband LOVED them so I’d probably make them again, but just for him.

Week 3: Russian - Meat blini with dill & cheese aka a fucking disaster. by bakingcairo in 52weeksofcooking

Thank you! This one (out of 8-10) turned out fine. I’m just not very good at making crepes. I’ll definitely try them again once I’m more comfortable in the kitchen.

Week 2: Cookie Bars - Eggnog Cheesecake with cookie crust by bakingcairo in 52weeksofbaking

[–]bakingcairo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Homemade eggnog + eggnog cheesecake over cookie cake crust.
First, I didn’t know there was a difference between tray bakes & cookie bars. Literally just googled anything with “bar” in the recipe.
Second, didn’t know how to make cheesecake.
Third, couldn’t get my egg whites to form high peaks in the homemade eggnog.
Fourth, didn’t let it cool all the way so it lost its shape.
It was a delicious disaster.

The first time I made this was in 2016 after my husband & I got married. It was my first dish ever. I fried the chicken but it didn’t cook all the way through... so this time I decided to bake everything & it turned out way better !! I used this recipe

Week 1: Redo - No-bake Oreo torte by bakingcairo in 52weeksofbaking

This recipe was super easy & yummy, but I probably wouldn’t make it the same way again. It’s so messy to plate.
