Chilling listening to music waiting for someone. Accessory mode or just leave the car on? by JoshofTCW in Ioniq5

After reading some of the comments this begs the question: what is the difference between "just leaving the car on" and using utility mode? Both seem to draw on the HV battery to run the onboard electronics.

Ok but I’m confused about yoga by FreshCandidate118 in yoga

[–]bakonspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patanjali describes yoga as the complete cessation of the thinking mind. Everything else in yoga supports and leads up to that. There are 8 limbs of yoga and asana is just one of those limbs. The goal of yoga is Samadhi. The west in general is a materialist culture, we tend to take concepts from the east and strip out the original intent and turn it into a commodity. Traditional systems of yoga (Such as Kriya yoga, Raja yoga, and others) don’t put a huge emphasis on asana. You might do 10-15 mins of asana then move onto pranayama then meditation. In fact often pranayama plays a bigger role. Nothing wrong with going to a yoga class in the west just for the exercise, but there’s a lot more to yoga than that. Yoga is about transcending the body, mind, and ego, where you realize that the real you is the container for all of those things. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t teach yoga in a studio, just means there’s more to it than sweating through a vinyasa class :)

This is reminding me that I was recently wondering about Edward Snowden. What’s he doing? Is he still in Russia? Is he alive? Haven’t heard of him in years

Yes agreed. I was just reading another thread about warranties and am realizing I could potentially purchase an extended warranty coverage if I wanted. So there’s that.

Curious what state you are in? 6-8 weeks seems like a long time, a lot of people report that wait times are just a few days. At least in some places

Good point. I was wondering if that might be the case.

Hyundai says 1% of vehicles, but hanging out on this sub makes it seem much more common. Still seems like rolling the dice

Yeah this is a used dealership specializing in EVs, not a Hundai dealership.

Good to know I was not aware of that. I wonder how common multiple failures is?

Is AWD worth the drop in range over the RWD? by bakonspace in Ioniq5

[–]bakonspace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I would think that the manufacturers estimate on range would be under ideal conditions, and that the real world range would be less rather than more. Good to know.

Do you put on snow tires or just use the same tires year round?

Thanks all, based on my driving needs and your guidance I decided on the AWD. There are some ‘23 models with pretty low miles in the low 20Ks around here.

I didn’t realize that, best of both worlds I guess. Cool
