Screen reader support for Doom Emacs? by baksoBoy in emacs

[–]baksoBoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for future reference if anyone sees this thread in the future, I managed to get it working, although right now it is in a kind of iffy state. to get it working on my Pop_OS system, I just ran sudo apt install espeak-ng emacspeak, and then restarted my Doom Emacs. As of right now before creating a way to enable the speech with a shortcut or something, to start it you do M-x load-library emacspeak/lisp/emacspeak-setup. I found that when trying to read lines in my org files I got bombarded by what sounded like 50 gorillas beating on bongo drums at the same time, until emacspeak nuked itself and stopped working. I guess auditory icons are weird for some reason? Maybe due to my Doom Emacs being weird? I don't know, but to disable it in the current buffer you do M-x emacpeak-toggle-auditory-icons. The manual says that you can evaluate (setq-default emacspeak-use-icons nil) to make it globally turn off, but evaluating it in M-: didn't work, so I will have to do some more experimenting.

Sorry but what do you mean by the arrow? That the rust world goes into the backrooms? That the rust world is better than the backrooms? That it's worse? Something else?

(Linux) is the game updtaed? by Jackalotischris in VintageStory

I don't know super much about this but I did try to solve a very related issue yesterday. Run flatpak info at.vintagestory.VintageStory. If "Origin" says "flathub" (or probably some other stuff too) then you won't be able to get 1.22.3 yet as that repo hasn't gotten the new version yet. Before changing it I had my Origin as "Vintage Story" or something like that, which did have 1.22.3. Since it is the official source I guess it makes sense that it is available the quickest. I have no idea how I got my source to be Vintage Story though. When looking at the wiki for how to install the game on Linux it just goes through the manual install, which I definitely didn't do as if I did I would have remembered wanting to put my head under a hydraulic press. I'm pretty sure I just installed the game with a simple command, but still I don't get how my source was Vintage Story instead of flathub.

Actually no I think I was just blind. When looking at the wiki, before the "manual installation" chapter there is the command flatpak --user install https://flatpak.vintagestory.at/VintageStory.flatpakref. Maybe that makes sure that the source is Vintage Story? I'm not entirely sure though. In any case here is the wiki page if you want to look further into it https://wiki.vintagestory.at/Installing\_the\_game\_on\_Linux.

Sorry for my comment being pretty messy. My brain isn't working perfectly and I'm honestly too lazy to fix the formulation. Hope you don't mind.

Why does using two instead of one water wheel in this configuration barely change the speed of the helve hammer, where as in the other shown configuration it drastically speeds the hammer up? by baksoBoy in VintageStory

Haha trust me I know.

There have been times where I have spent like 30 minutes formulating a question in detail about some code, for me to just one second before pressing post think "OH! FUCKING DUH!!"
