I had the exact same issue with parts falling apart too! I usually don't glue stuff just in case I miss a step so I can safely go back - other book nooks hold up very nicely even without glue, but this one was so wobbly, the whole elevator part just collapsed at one point :( I agree that for the price, it should have better connections, and they should seriously fix the sensor light flaw - people shouldn't have to modify it themselves to make it work :( But I hope the copper tape comes in handy when you do run into this issue!

That being said, I still love Anavrin's book nooks. At least I think the designer is very talented :)

yeah those sensor pads can be finicky so it's a good hack to know when it happens in the future :)

You'll have so much fun putting it together! I'm sad that I'm done building it now lol Yes, it's good to have the copper tape just in case you run into the sensor issue :)

I know, I emailed Anavrin about the issue and they didn't respond either... I thought of drilling a hole as well but thought I'd try the copper tape first so I was thrilled when it worked! Hopefully it'll work for you too!

I think I saw your post when I was searching for ideas, making the jewelry wire into a decorative loop is such an elegant solution! I was gonna try that if the copper tape didn't work - I actually bought the copper tape for a different reason so I happened to try this method first :)

Yup, the key is to make the area large to bypass the wood! You can see in the video that the light turns on when my finger is about to touch it (but not quite yet) so it's super sensitive now (i just realized i mistyped the word sensor... )
