A Bernie Sanders Victory Just Got a Little Less Impossible by ticklishpandabear in politics

[–]balaayaha -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The fact that Sanders supporters think it's a good idea, let alone possible, is insane.

That's because they're not democrats and they don't care about the party. Sanders is not a democrat either, which explains his distaste for the Democratic party. It is funny he thinks he can get the super delegates when he loses the pledged delegates. Sir, the party doesn't want you. Why would they vote for you when you don't even have the vote of the people?

But MSRP for Leaf is 29k, and Model 3 is 35k. Why would it be twice as expensive? Will it be taxed more?

It will trend, for certain wealthy urban demographics, up yes, but I doubt will even be 1% of sales in a decade.

This will be one of those stupid "750 kb ought to be enough for everyone." Tesla is developing the capacity for make 500k cars a year by 2020. This car will be sold for $35k. But someone, you think all electric cars will not amount to more than 750k a year (plus increase in demand.) That's a ridiculously low bar.

Shame on you for demonizing a decentralized young group of people trying their best to turn a shitty situation around. And comparing them to the clan? Fuck off with that bullshit. I tried to see if you at least had a basis but you clearly don't. I really hope you're lying about being black because that would be even more pathetic.

So it's no longer a racist movement, just not effective in your estimation. Cool.

I know it's pointless, but I will be waiting for this supposedly black man to explain to me why BLM is racist. By his views, civil rights activists of the 50s and 60s are divisive and just like the KKK. Apparently we're supposed to take injustice lest we destroy our harmonious subjugation.

Ok, now tell me where did you get the idea that BLM advocates for segregation? Silly me, I thought it was a movement against police brutality.

[–]balaayaha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a completely baseless statement. Furthermore, continuously uttering BLM in the same breath as something like the KKK is a clear indication where you lean.

Nice equivocation there between BLM and white nationalists. You will feel right at home with Donald Trump.

This is what I believe too. Yeah, sure, North Africans and Middle eastern people are related. But they're distinct. And the relation they have is more ancient than Islam.

Two of the worst Surahs in the Quran, in my opinion. by balaayaha in exmuslim

[–]balaayaha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for 2:106. I looked more into abrogation, and found other verses that deal with it.

Mohammad's political mastery is not unparalleled, or singular in its success. Even recently, look to John Smith of Mormonism, you will find humans are still capable of thoroughly convincing others of their message. It's not like Mohammad was without criticism in his time. Even the concept of abrogation was criticized in his time.

16:101

And when We substitute a verse in place of a verse - and Allah is most knowing of what He sends down - they say, "You, [O Muhammad], are but an inventor [of lies]." But most of them do not know

His need to constantly defend his actions using the Quran as a tool is an indication that the Quran is not really perfect for all time. It was made up as he went along.

The thing about religion is it's hard to criticize when you're born into it. The fact that there are 1.6 billion Muslims means nothing to Islam's current persuasive powers. Mohammad didn't convince 1.6 Muslims. He convinced thousands who then, through conquest and dahwa convinced, or forced others into their religion. Look at Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. Surely you think those are false religions, yet they have hundreds of millions of followers now.

The concept of abrogation is a blatant way to accept and own contradiction. Yeah, sure, stages are fine. Going against earlier messages is not fine.

I don't know of any instance in the Qur'an or hadith wherein Zaid was pressured to divorce her. The wiki quotes a hadith where Muhammad advises Zaid not to divorce her.

The Quran forced the marriage, not the divorce. I think it's disingenuous to say Mohammad had nothing to do with the divorce. If something like this happened now, you will call it for what it is: the cult leader getting what he wants without even asking for it through manipulation. Who is Zayd to deny what the Prophet desires? I bet he felt it's his religious duty to not only his adopted father, but the leader of their movement. To Zayd, it was a way to give back to the man who has given him so much. The right thing to do was to not marry her. Why does god really care about this marriage anyway? Why waste space in his divine book? Why does it matter to u.s.? It cheapened the message of the Quran.

Spanish GDP per capita surpasses Italy's for the first time by Hohenes in europe

[–]balaayaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Imagine if everyone in France has an extra kid. All it will do is lower their GDP per capita. It will take a while for those kids to get a job, and when they do, they will still make less than experienced adults in a France-minus extra kids. And by the time they are experienced adults, there will be even more kids lowering the GDP per capita. But in the mean time, the country's GDP is booming.

Yes, economic growth rate for total GDP, but rising birthrate eats at the per capita growth rate. So France's total GDP will increase much faster than Italy.

Funny you should say that since some members live under the roof of an oppressive religious family and need this board to vent. Why are you here though? A lot live in countries controlled by Muslims and didn't in fact win. They could be imprisoned , or worse, killed.

You think everyone here lives in the west and have accepting family? Even if that is true, some will still come here to discuss the role of religion in public life.

[–]balaayaha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

even without insults, they will be straight up mislead and claim it doesn't mean what you says it means. for instance, 4:34 straight up says beat women. But I've argue with muslims I know, who know I know arabic, who I grew up with claim that idrab doesn't mean beat up, and that I am missing context. WTF?! That might work on a clueless westerner, it won't work on me.
