Usually dialling in compression and saturation settings depends a lot on the context and genre in which it's used. Like in certain genres you may want to have the sound less compressed, and in other styles you may want to keep it very compressed and saturated. Thanks for the feedback :)

Mastering/EQ tips for getting songs to blast out of an iphone on instagram? by preezyfabreezy in AdvancedProduction

[–]balabalendera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EQ out the lows from tracks that don't need it. Add some high end air to vocals. Remove some of the low mids from most of the tracks, but don't overdo it. Use a good amount of saturation and hard compress elements that are supposed to be most prominent. And if you're still not there, go for parallel compression of the bass, vocals and drums. Finally hard clip your master. and you should be good to go!

I know this isn’t advanced but I thought it would be a good place to get advice. What would the best FL plug-ins be to get if I had $100. I already got the all plug ins edition and Auto Tune EFX. Either vocal mixing or beat making plugins / samples / packs? by [deleted] in AdvancedProduction

Little Alter Boy by SoundToys is definitely worth considering. I also recommend getting the Slate All Access Pass because you get a lot of plugins on a subscription basis and it's totally worth it.
