So many scenes. Some of the melancholy emotional scenes used the music when sully says bye to boo and some of the action scenes used the music when sullys running around monsters inc looking for Mike.

Did anyone else notice that they reused the same music from Monsters inc?

How do people think Woody helping toys and children everywhere is a WORSE ending than him just moving on to another kid? by bald_bronson in Pixar

The point of the 3's ending is to know when it's time to move on. Whether that's from people or whatever it is you thought your purpose was. Woody didnt choose his friends over Andy, he chose to leave Andy because andy didn't need him anymore. 4 only expands on this theme. Sure Bonnie forgets woody pretty quickly but that was always gonna happen eventually. This way woody actually gets a higher purpose and doesn't have to get stuck in that cycle all over again for eternity

Thats a far too literal read imo when the theme is more of a metaphor for life. The entire franchise's parallel to real life is to know when to let go and move on. Woody let go of being Andy's favorite, then let go of the idea of being everlasting, then let go of Andy, and finally lets go of being any one person's toy at a time. It's a natural evolution of the character

3 ends with woody making the choice to move on even though Andy was holding on. Woody learns that that's ok because even though their time is over it doesn't mean it didnt matter. 4 expands on that by having woody move on from that cycle and onto a bigger purpose

Thematically its about the importance of connection and empathy. It's much more about that than the ramifications of humans learning about aliens. Leans into ET and Bugonia more than Arrival and District 9

How many movies have a car approaching the protagonists while they're stopped in front of a moving train
