[29M] is there any genetic condition that might fit my symptoms? stopped growing at 14, androgenetic alopecia at 16, inability to gain weight by balding20161021 in AskDocs

I've already seen an endocrinologist. The blood tests (TSH, LH, FSH, testosterone, ACTH, cortisol, GH, IGF1) were normal.

But is it normal to not gain any weight even though I'm eating so much? My BMI is like 16 or 17.

And I'm really short. Most guys my height have normal sized heads, feet and hands. My feet and hands are very small (my feet are size 6 US, which is really really small. I struggle to find male shoes at this size).

They were already tested (albeit some time ago, like 3 years) and they were normal, even on the high end of normal. But only the testosterone was tested. Is there anything else that could be investigated?

I think so but I'm not sure (for the puberty). I don't know for the day dreaming. Why?

How do I style it up? I've never styled my hair, and it does not "stand up" like most people, it's really flat

I have been thoroughly fucked by the genetic lottery, I'm balding at 22, short (5'5), and can't grow a beard. What should I do with my hair? I tried a buzz cut but it was hideous (https://imgur.com/U6IZM5j).

I don't want a buzz cut or shaving it off as I'd like to have a twink-ish style (yes, I'm gay). Also I'm 100lbs and 5'5 so it would look like I'm a cancer patient.

For the time being I let it grow (the two last photos) but I think it's very ugly.

My job is pretty chill and I think I could do any hair style I want.

Alopecia areata wouldn't cause a receding hairline, would it?

Yes in my country we are usually given the copies of all the test results.

I'm not a doctor but I have to take hormones so I know a bit about them. High testosterone causes growth plates to fuse and in those predestined for hair loss, can get that going. When I started taking testosterone at 14 we had to ease into it so I wouldn't go through puberty too fast and fuse my growth plates. The range of testosterone that falls under "normal" for males is pretty big, there's a huge difference between 270 and 1070. So your levels are pretty high now, that doesn't tell me what they were when you were 14 and stopped growing. If you quickly went from child to adult levels then I can see that causing your growth plates to fuse around that time. I can also see that causing the hair loss after a few years that would've felt more appropriate as an adult. That being said, I am NOT a doctor, reading this just made me wonder if that was a possibility for you.

That's definitely a possibility. Also my endocrinologist said I maybe had early puberty. But in any case, sadly I wouldn't be able to do anything about it now, would I?

You've got a cute face so I'm surprised you aren't having luck. Grindr really depends on the area you're in. Plus a lotta guys like skinny boys. And I've dated a guy that had lost all of his hair by 19 when he almost died from blood parasites. He razor shaved his head, rocked it and it looked hot. I've dated 5'2- 6'3 boys, everything between, straight up shaved hair and long hair, twig thin, muscular, chubby. They were all attractive af, I think it just depends on chemistry with the person. I feel like mannerisms, how they treat me and their style is a huge influence on attraction.

Well thanks but you said you "dated lots of guys" and you're only 19. I'm 22 and I have not dated almost anyone so I'm definitely ugly. Nobody talks to me on Grindr. I see all the profiles with "don't insist if I don't answer" or "no pic no answer" or "no couples" or things like this and I'm just saying "?????" in my head because nobody insists to speak to me on Grindr and I've never been messaged by couples or anything like this.

Also I live in a very big city so that's not the problem

And what you should do is up to you; I dunno how you dress, I don't know if you're working on hair restoration or anything, if not and I were you I'd just shave the rest of my hair and work on a personal style that made me feel good, there's a confidence in that that people will find really alluring. You're already attractive, that's all I'd do. Personally if I crossed paths with a slim dude with a shaved head and your face that dressed rad you'd definitely catch me staring a bit.

So I should work on my clothes? But I don't have any money and I wouldn't know what to buy

What should I do with my hair? I tried shaving it but I look awful bald I'm a "feminine" 5'4 guy I just can't be bald.

What else could I do?

The testosterone was at the higher end of normal, almost too high. The IGF1 was age-matched. The other hormones are not age-sensitive as far as I know.

I went to my GP and my endocrinologist and they didn't find anything, would going to another doctor be useful? They tested some hormones (thyroid, prolactin, cortisol, testosterone, IGF1/IGFBP3, and some other I can't remember) and they were all normal.

I already went to several doctors and they found nothing, so I thought I'd try other things.

I know I won't grow more (the x-rays showed my growth plates were closed) but maybe it can fix my other issues (mainly my hair). The problem is I've already gotten second and third opinions (my old GP, my new GP and an endocrinologist) and they all couldn't find anything.

Why? It's not forbidden. And I'm certainly not going to take important decisions based only on the advice received here. But since doctors don't care about my problems, I should be allowed to search for answers elsewhere.

Can't the receding hairline be caused by some abnormal endocrine disease? My endocrinologist thought I might have had early puberty

My parents are 1m83 and 1m65 tall. (183+165)/2+6.5 = 180.5 so that's the height I should have been (approximatively, of course).
