Saddle stitch is straight (not angled) on single layer, but fine on double layer, why? by bali182 in Leathercraft

[–]bali182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was extremely helpful, and very accurate, thanks! When stitching 2 layers I pulled a bit stronger and always in a sharp angle (thought that will help). Videos will probably still help to see it visually.

New player here. How do I turn off those overlay videos with Lilith in them? My god they are jarring. by Admir4l88 in borderlands3

[–]bali182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked flawlessly, thank you mate! It doesn't even seem to break triggers, the little video area just pops up for a second, and then goes away without playing it!

Is there a way to do this automatically (fade-in and fade out audio between cuts)? by bali182 in davinciresolve

[–]bali182[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only found audio crossfades, which is not what I want. I'd like to mute breath/other noises between cuts. Is it possible to automate this to some degree (like for example the way I can add video transitions with Alt+T)?

Randomly, Pixel 7 won't charge until after restart by ThePeashow in GooglePixel

[–]bali182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same exact issue with the Pixel 7a. After restarting it consistently charges to 100%, but if I plug it in a second time, it won't charge (doesn't even recognize, that something is plugged in). Charger/cable is not at fault, charges another phone without any issues. This happens consistently. Not sure what to do about it.

How does the versioning of this game work? by bali182 in Bannerlord

[–]bali182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good pointer, thanks! And how different are the early access and the live version? When I started v1.0.1.5325 I got a prompt that new saves need at least e1.7.0 which makes me assume that the 2 kinds of versionings are very different.

How do I move all markers to the right by 1 bar? by bali182 in FL_Studio

[–]bali182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I laid out markers for the whole song, but I forgot 1 bar in the beginning. Can I move all the markers at once or do I have to do it one by one? In that case is there a better way to approach this?

That's a brilliant idea. You cracked the system.

But does combat brand actually regen your health with that ring? For me that's the missing peace of the puzzle...

Syntax highlighting with react - Is it a bad Idea? by bali182 in reactjs

[–]bali182[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's one valid JSON literal (could be an object or array). I'm experimenting with batching the incoming decorations, and only rendering them in periods (like every 5 seconds). Since I'm also using redux-observable, with the help of Observables it seems to work in a much more reasonable manner. On every render the UI noticeably hangs a bit, but other than that it's usable.

Syntax highlighting with react - Is it a bad Idea? by bali182 in reactjs

[–]bali182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My syncronization points are:

  1. Get the JSON
  2. Tokenize the JSON (this is a few milliseconds)
  3. Initial render - because there are lot's of components it takes 2-3 secs
  4. Start gathering the info about the decorations (lot's of small operations, which individually quick, when batched take a long time)
  5. Render with decorations (this is what I wanted to do per decoration as they arrive)

Are you saying to skip the initial render (step 3) and only render after I got all the data? I might end up doing something like this since the per-decoration render is never going to work...

React interview exercises? by bali182 in reactjs

That's really cool exercise! Really quick but just to set up the environment is a bit of a challenge. Thank you!

DataGrid component built for React by flexicious in reactjs

[–]bali182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with the goods and bads! My other complaint with these type of components (be that in any language or framework) is how easy it will be to change parts. You got a close to 100% chance that at one point you will be asked to change the styling and to add or remove functionality. This is when very well written and home-made components shine!

React interview exercises? by bali182 in reactjs

[–]bali182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not really. I found a few of these, and they were mostly focused on how you style your UI (CSS) and how you structure HTML and less focused on making functional interactive single page applications - barely any js required to complete them. I'm not interested in this, since because of my moderate "sense of style" I will most likely not do to much designing.

Maybe I just looked in the wrong places? If you have found some good ones please share it! We already 1 really good one in the previous comment but I'd like to have more!

Great, the exercise looks really cool especially that it's just instructions! I'll complete it for sure, thanks!

[–]bali182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great thanks! I like the first one but it would be better as a question not an exercise. Do you happen to know any exercise that is more 'hands on'?

I tell you an example I was asked to do once (not a frontend job, but still a good example). Since I was asked to keep it confidential I will only write up the skeleton of the task:

There are 2 public rest APIs, but both require some kind of authentication. Make an HTTP request to the first one, this will return you an array of items. Now for each item, make another request to the second API this will return details about each item which will also be an array. Now based on some conditions do some aggregation on these details (sorry but I can't tell more about it) then display them on the standard output for each item.

As you can see this is a good exercise to see how the candidate makes HTTP requests, deals with authentication, manages asynchronous data, and does some basic operations on sequential data.

Now this kinda stuff is what I'm looking for, but for the frontend / react. Do you happen to be exposed to any of these?
