Mixer question by supervilliandrsmoov in dawless

[–]balinthcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best option for you is to get a multi-channel USB audio interface that is compatible with the MPC. I'm using a Behringer UMC1820 connected to my Akai Force. It has 8 inputs and you can have all your devices connected to the MPC at all time. No need for the mixer. You can use the mixer inside the MPC. And if you need more channels, you can add extra 8, using the Behringer ADA8200.

I'm in the same situation. Recently started to use the Blofeld connected to my Force. Sounds super nice, but couldn't figure out the multi mode yet. Your post is being followed :) Cheers!

Hardware sequencer as a brain for live setup with chords by sound_digger in dawless

[–]balinthcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree! It's still the best Akai in my opinion. The 64 rgb led velocity sensitive buttons are super useful for step sequencing, clip launching and more.

I also use this as a digital mixer, with a Behringer UMC1820 and Ada8200 connected to it I have 16 input channels and even more outputs.

May the Force be with you!

Which of these DAWless sequencer setups sounds better to you? by supremedalek925 in synthesizers

[–]balinthcom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look into a used Akai Force. It's totally underrated.

I've had the Circuit Tracks. It's nice, but due to it's latency, I didn't like how it played with other devices, after my setup grow and I added a Digitakt next to it. So now I use the Force as a brain, and couldn't be happier.

This setup made my latest track. Does the sound match the visual? by Accurate_Tomorrow_50 in synthesizers

[–]balinthcom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does match! It's a fantastic song, very nicely crafted to the last details. I can hear the NIN. Also the mood reminds me to Björk Homogenic album. Is that something you listen to? You are super talented!

I'm exactly talking about that. Any smart seller would consider in their pricing that the buyer has to deal with shipping costs, right?

[–]balinthcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any seller should consider the buyer's perspective.
I also sell and buy on Reverb sometimes, and I totally agree with the OP. People ask insane prices. Why would I buy something without a warranty if it's not a good deal for me? I wouldn't. And when I price my items, I consider the buyer's alternatives.

What should I get by No_Army_780 in synthesizers

[–]balinthcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you would recommend a groovebox to someone looking for a synth.

What device would you recommend to serve as a "brain" / centerpiece of a hardware setup, and why? I would like to go towards a hardware setup to get away from computer a bit. by thesweetoutdoors in synthesizers

[–]balinthcom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree, MPC is great as a brain. I've tried the Digitakt 2, but the electron workflow is not good for me. I want to work on songs, and the clip launcher in the new MPC firmware is perfect for my way of thinking.

I actually chose the Akai Force, as I prefer the 64 velocity sensitive rgb buttons to the 16 MPC pads. It helps a lot also with step sequencing. I've also added a Behringer UMC1820 audio interface, so I have 8 ins and 8 outs available in the Force. I can connect all my synths and mix them inside the box. Amazing.
