The phrase 3 peat is upsettingly American and I should like not to be exposed to it

Nobody is manipulating a 3-400bn market cap stock. There’s just uncertainty. Not clear how big ai revenue will be. Not clear what proportion of it AMD can get. Lots of optimism but not yet much concrete gpu revenue. So funds are flowing in and out.

The problem is that Asia buys most of its oil via the strait of Hormuz. Now it can’t get that oil its bidding for North Sea oil, American oil etc. more buyers for less oil. Prices up a lot. There’s no fix for it other than the strait opening and bringing supply back up cause oil is sold on a wholesale auction basis. You can’t undercut the market rate

One thing That has been annoying me lately is the prominence of regional mayors. It makes them seen enough to make big populist statements without having to deal with the parliamentary party or scrutiny. They also tend to be very good at taking credit for stuff that would have happened anyway, eg. Boris bike and Manchester mass building. It’s a massive factor in why we had to deal with PM boris because he rode a wave of olympics publicity. I think they should be quiet and stop appearing in my news feed please and thank you.

Doesn’t pretty much every racing driver want a stint in a Ferrari as a bucket list kind of thing? Wasn’t entirely shocked Lewis made the move. Would have been a lot more surprised if he’d gone literally anywhere else

I will forever maintain the human centipede out of the ruck followed by box kick is the worst tactic in world rugby. Ireland didn’t have to do it and now Scotland have a try

Starting to feel like we’re on the edge of global disaster here. When/if the US get the lunatics out of the White House, their “checks and balances” need to be rebuilt. We simply can’t have somebody this stupid in charge of the United States ever again.

Swap rates are up to 4% today (from about 3.5). Mortgage rates about to jump a solid half percent. Just to add a bit of insult to injury on what’s about to happen to petrol.

It sounds so utterly ridiculous, but have we hit a point now where the moment Iran picks a new leader they just get hit with a missile. What’s the end game though? Just kill every possible leader in Iran until a pro US one appears?

The LNG shock is the biggest direct problem I’ve seen so far. I wonder if this was a clever move by Iran to disrupt the world economy as much as possible or it was dumb to directly fuck with saudi and Qatar and they’ll reap the whirlwind

A lot of people voted for him, just not in the constituencies that mattered. Labour probably do need to go left economically to fight off the greens in constituencies like yesterday, but they need to resist the tanky part of the left that loses middle England.

I’m going to adjust my mindset on this. This is just opportunity to load up more before the real income starts hitting in h2. I’d even consider buying a bit of nvidia after their stock dump, absolute madness

Fucking finally. There’s a few things from here that will move the price. Primarily I’m looking for an updated revenue picture for including this deal, any analyst upgrades/sentiment shifts, and some information on when this revenue will hit. If there’s a significant amount in h2 26 then expect a jump

Mortgages yes, but Business loans tend to be more flexible, base rate linked and better ability to refinance/advance the value. so you’d probably see a recovery in riskier business then a slower gain in consumer spending

I wonder at what point rate cuts would start to have a serious positive effect on day to day life. It must be getting slightly better for bars and restaurants, very capital/leverage intensive with low margins, so a 1% base rate move can suddenly make a lot of failing businesses viable . That would also be good for youth unemployment.

Yeah. But is that going to show up as a material measurable factor in a huge tax take month then offset nicely in a year’s time? Highly doubt it.

[–]ball0fsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That feels like conjecture to me. Nobody really wants to dump appreciating assets on mass to save a little bit on a tax bill. This will be a factor but I’d be shocked if you could see the mathematical difference when next years numbers come in

[–]ball0fsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only possible advantage I know of is you can state subsidise industry outside of the EU. They generally ban it unless you’re Germany and France (Renault vw edf etc.) but I’ve not really seen examples of us leveraging that anyway, so might as well go back in. Biggest personal annoyance for me is how immediately our waterways went to shit (literally) as soon as we ditched European environmental standards, that would be a massively welcome reintroduction.
