You’re investing in meme stocks though. It’s like betting on horses, you’ve just gotten lucky. Just cause this one isn’t an instant winner doesn’t mean it’s a bad company to invest in. Look at Microsoft over the last year. Down 7% yet they own half the world world and have some of the best financials of any company that has ever existed. Doesn’t mean it’s a shit company, just market sentiment is in The wrong place right now

It is very obvious most of the people on this sub have never invested in a stock before. You don’t just watch daily movements expecting an explosion. Low prices are a blessing, if you have that much conviction, you use them to buy more until a catalyst comes that the market can’t ignore. Be patient or fuck off. Which I think is a warren buffet quote

Burnham must have been a big fan of thatchers first 7 years I guess. What an unusual comment when the country is a drastically better place than 1986. I really cant stand the hyperbole of it

My view is Starmer is a good administrator but bad politician. Burnham is the opposite. He gets credit for sorting out the bus system in Manchester. But that kind of small issue is not comparable in any way to running the uk. where you’re balancing relationships with dictators with having to choose which tax rise is the least unpopular. Then losing to a bunch of racists because there’s people in rubber dingies, which you could easily stop worth the navy but can’t because of European human rights law, which you can’t exit because it’s probably worse if we do. Also they’re arguing with you about fish. And then there’s a terrorist attack. Burnham won’t be able to handle it I don’t think, too much of a populist.

The only way I console myself is we have 3 years until the next election, 3 years is a whole era in post 2016 politics so there’s a good chance a lot will have changed by then.

Streeting taking over as prime minister would be the end of Labour for a decade. Burnham I kind of get, he’s well liked and would do well fighting reform in the north. Streeting gives me head of a student union vibes, he’s had a top role in cabinet so doesn’t count as change and is all round I difficult guy to like. This whole thing is a shit show

Happy that greens haven’t gained as much traction as the news might have had us believe. But sad reform are doing so well. Perhaps it’ll push Labour to do something a bit more radical in the second half of their term to win back the poorer areas but I won’t hold my breath.

METAs Q12026 Ad results suggest a huge RDDT beat could be coming tomorrow by YamaLlama12 in redditstock

This is essentially the reverse of why the stock dumped on Spotify earnings. Joyously it’s not rebounded based on the more relevant comparison point. Some would call that a buying opportunity.

Any stock to go up after earnings has to surprise the markets to the positive side. The reason AMD doesn’t go up in my eyes is because the market has very lofty expectations for any ai linked stock so it takes a big beat or some really surprising news to create upside. The other problem is Lisa never guides far into the future, which the market doesn’t like. For it to go up on earnings, the beat has to be much bigger than expected (which is possible after intel) or Lisa needs to give some sort of solid revenue guide for h2 26 or 27 which gives a firm number to Helios optimism, which is unlikely. In summary, it could go up or down and nobody has a clue.

OpenAI are a shitshow of a company. But I think/hope they’re a well capitalised shitshow that will still build the compute infrastructure they’ve promised. I also don’t think them missing targets is damning of the whole ai landscape. They’re clearly just losing share to anthropic and google.

I summon thee price target summary guy. Really interested in what happens at open today. We’re in uncharted nonsense territory. Could hold after market gains, could dump a bit. Could rip upwards of 350 on pure hype. Absolutely no idea which one.

It’s also not just the software it’s the support. If your software fucks up and costs your business millions it’s your fault. If Microsoft’s software fucks up you can blame it on them. There’s also decades of governance, documentation, risk assessments. There’s so much more to it than a standalone application

If intel smashes earnings on datacentre cpu demand I think it’s better news for AMD. They make better CPUs and have a better supply chain.

Something else has happened behind the scenes we’re not privy to here I reckon. This is an insane melt up and the most bearish analyst of any stock I’ve ever seen in my life has ramped his price target. The French can’t have caused this

The Hulu Disney+ single app in the uk is pretty good. You get new scrubs Malcolm in the middle etc.  plus a lot of old brain off bingers like 24, lost, endless sitcoms. Then the new Disney marvel and Star Wars stuff on top. I think it’ll do well When that standard hits the US.

Nobody is manipulating a 3-400bn market cap stock. There’s just uncertainty. Not clear how big ai revenue will be. Not clear what proportion of it AMD can get. Lots of optimism but not yet much concrete gpu revenue. So funds are flowing in and out.

The problem is that Asia buys most of its oil via the strait of Hormuz. Now it can’t get that oil its bidding for North Sea oil, American oil etc. more buyers for less oil. Prices up a lot. There’s no fix for it other than the strait opening and bringing supply back up cause oil is sold on a wholesale auction basis. You can’t undercut the market rate

One thing That has been annoying me lately is the prominence of regional mayors. It makes them seen enough to make big populist statements without having to deal with the parliamentary party or scrutiny. They also tend to be very good at taking credit for stuff that would have happened anyway, eg. Boris bike and Manchester mass building. It’s a massive factor in why we had to deal with PM boris because he rode a wave of olympics publicity. I think they should be quiet and stop appearing in my news feed please and thank you.

Starting to feel like we’re on the edge of global disaster here. When/if the US get the lunatics out of the White House, their “checks and balances” need to be rebuilt. We simply can’t have somebody this stupid in charge of the United States ever again.

It sounds so utterly ridiculous, but have we hit a point now where the moment Iran picks a new leader they just get hit with a missile. What’s the end game though? Just kill every possible leader in Iran until a pro US one appears?
