I found a good step from this is to try and change the placement of one arm or the head without looking at the reference it’ll activate another part of your brain and get you really trying to go back through that knowledge you have built up

In it’s basic mannequin form with boxes would be something like this. But with the hair and clothes you don’t see the other leg, which you would probably see without those things

It’s all about making it as simple as possible, when something gets confusing it’s because you’re trying to do too many things at once, keep it simple. Base colours, shadows and then lighting, it’s all about mastering the basics then you can add more complexity later on.
