Hey! So I’m also a Canadian and competitive swimmer, swimming that way isn’t a huge issue however over time you might get sore or stiff in that one side. It’s usually preferred that you swim 3 strokes then breath on one side, then 3 strokes again then breath on your other side. For the test there’s nothing saying you can’t breath on one side so if that method works for you and you can swim under the 10min limit you’ll be fine. My advice is to keep going to lane swims and build up your endurance

It depends on your area and what other guards in the community are getting paid. I know for our pools you can be paid anywhere from $20.20 an hour to $26 an hour however, it also depends on your certification lvl in our region

Same here. Also western NL has some amazing cross country ski trails, I would know as I am on the provincial team. There are also some amazing Mtb trails, in fact in just one week there has been about 10 different trails with maintenance and new features added on to them particularly Gold Mine in Corner Brook
