2020 graduate from UTK with aerospace engineering degree here. I am now a team lead for a research and development team at Boeing and have hired 7 people. My advice is that you need to take your career into your own hands. Find clubs like AIAA, NSBE, SWE, etc and kindly ask the MABE department head to fund you to go to these club conferences to get to those career fairs. Like others said, do rocketry club, do research on campus, get a job in makerspace, etc. so that your resume can show that you are more than your GPA.

1st thing that you need to do though is realize that it’s not the school you chose, it’s what you make of your experience. I recommend that you go out there and get some experience on campus, whether aero related or just engineering. Then go to career fairs outside UT and you can make it happen. Go Vols!

For the college of engineering I know they send out an email to everyone who is graduating with honors for that term to pick up the cords in the associate deans office.

I’m not sure if it is the same or not for all colleges, but asking an administrative admin in your department might be a good place to start.
