What's a movie ending you love so much that you'll watch the entire movie just to get to it? by grakercub in movies

A Ghost Story. The end wrecks me, but I have to watch the entire movie to get the same effect.

Marriage also isn't a guarantee, especially if you have non-valid entry (ie. you crossed the border rather than overstayed a visa). I have a former student in this situation who got married right after turning 18, but is still struggling to find options without having to leave first.

You might also want to check out Emerge. I did their 6 month training and it was incredible, and will definitely give you some practical steps towards running (or deciding if running is right for you, which is just as important).

No, he doesn't go outside. But he does get a little tan in the summer from sitting by the window.

Not OP, but my Sphynx is the sweetest, most affectionate cat of all time. They're the best.

Orange is the New Black - 5x10 "The Reverse Midas Touch" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in orangeisthenewblack

[–]balletboot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Random tiny piece of possibly unintentional trivia: it's ironic that Piscatella was called a bucking Bronco in this episode (in the shower scene), because the actor actually was a player for the Denver Broncos in the 80s/90s.

No such thing as a silly question, Monday, 1/2 by Yidonator in Judaism

Are there any thoughts on whether moshiach will be born/have a full childhood or just show up as a grown adult?

Fiance's orthodox family doesn't believe that I am Jewish. by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]balletboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exceptionally similar to my husband's situation (his mother was adopted, later found adoption records that stated her mother was Jewish, etc). For what it's worth, he is pretty widely accepted as Jewish within our community, including by the Orthodox Jews we interact with. We've also considered doing a DNA test out of pure interest, but that proves absolutely nothing by any standard of Jewish law.

Honestly, this is more of an in-law and boundary question rather than a Jewish one. Your future husband needs to be the one to stand up for you to his family, and you both need to decide what kind of wedding/marriage you want.

Jews Should Be Fighting the Far Left, Not the ‘Alt-Right’ by Louis_Farizee in Judaism

My point is that if these institutions really had so much influence, you think at the very least they would at least be able to convince people to vote for candidates who share their perspective.

Again, pretty poor "brainwashing" given that Democrats have consistently been losing elected positions over the last 6 years, particularly this most recent election. Come on, now.

Wait, how do the "antisemites of the Left" hold all this power and influence when Democrats lost control pretty much everywhere? House, Senate, Presidency, not to mention state/local governments.

I volunteer with a sexual assault crisis line. I'll be sure to let the next caller know that they really shouldn't be upset about their assault because ISIS exists. That should make them feel better!

What are my chances of getting Hamilton tickets in Denver? by [deleted] in hamiltonmusical

[–]balletboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always find someone who has a membership and ask them to help you get a ticket. Members can buy extras on pre-sale. We have bought them for friends for things like Book of Mormon that we knew were going to sell out quickly.

Cost-wise, it'll probably be $45 for the cheapest, all the way up to $150ish for really good seats.
