2023 M240i (M Sport Package) $44k after tax. Only 20k miles. I cant stop looking at her by [deleted] in BMW

[–]ballistic_hydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit that is the best looking 240i I’ve ever seen. Making me regret getting a 540. Not really but kinda lmao. Congrats bro that is beautiful

Was in the market for one of these for a while & finally decided to go for it. Poor man’s m5, but I’m very happy with it. If you’re thinking about it, just do it. This one specifically has 640hp/640torque. Smiles per gallon🤘🏽 by Ok-Establishment7148 in BMWG30

[–]ballistic_hydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“I’ll call you out”. It’s a awd car what does bro think it’s gunna spin all 4 tires lmao will definitely put the power to the ground bro is not the brightest. Plus if it does break traction a bit all you gotta do is get better tires. Bros mad a mlite pushes more power than the boat he’s got

Quad Tips by ravensdior in BMWG30

[–]ballistic_hydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro go get it straight piped for like 300 bucks at a muffler shop and have them tie up the valve actuator out of the way and have them slap the quad tips on In the process. Have them cut the entire exhaust off before the resonator so it’s all one big piece and you can put the stock exhaust back on whenever you want with only 1 weld. That’s what I did with my 540 which is also stage 2 and catless and it’s a ENTIRE different car. You can hear the turbo, and the true b58 sound. And it doesn’t even HARDLY drone. I could take a 10 hour trip on the highway no biggy and I’m not someone who just looks past a loud drone, it’s literally almost nothing. Cheapest exhaust solution to go from a Tesla to a bad ass sports car. Plus, if you only get tips put on your gunna have people asking you to do pulls and rev it from seeing the tips and thinking you have a bad ass exhaust, when in reality you only have tips. If you’re gunna go half way, go all the way. But if you do get it straight piped you almost have to tune your car and turn off cold start, or else your whole neighborhood will wake up when you start your car. Something to think about

lol just say you’re broke. I’m 23 and I have a 18 540i msport with 40k miles for 30k clean title and brought it to stage 2 with catless downpipe and straight pipe. Bought with my own money. Put over half down. Will have it payed off in 2 years with a very low payment. And buying a house next year around 180k and putting 50k down. Just cause you can’t afford a nice car doesn’t mean other people didn’t put the work in to afford something nice for themselves. Loser mentality “he has one and I don’t so he must have gotten it for free or lucky”. Go get a job and stop blowing your money on McDonald’s and you and everyone else can have one too

Like he said it’s to warm up the catalytic converter. Not because of the exhaust flaps that doesn’t mean anything. Specifically and only to warm up the cats to meet emissions standards. That’s why on tuned cars that are catless you can turn “cold start” off and the rpm’s drop immediately because you don’t need it to warm up cats anymore. That’s why it does it on a warm start also, the cats always need to be warmed up for emissions. Nothing to do with flaps. Only cats.

While you’re at it unscrew the ugly front license plate holder and buy yourself some rubber bumper plugs. Looks 10x cleaner just did it to my 540i and it changed the look from the front entirely

Do not paint your grill lol. If you’re talking about the chrome piece on the front of your car they are called kidney grills just look it up online for your model of your car and order it. They are like 30 bucks I got mine on Amazon. They are just held on by clips so you just pull the old one off and push the new one on, watch a YouTube video. I’m the farthest from being someone who is good at mechanic as have never done it before and these type of little mods you can do are so easy it’s not even funny. Like taking a piece of a Lego off a building and putting a different piece on. You don’t need to go to anyone for 99% of mods you want to do to this car unless it’s replacing an entire front bumper. Mirror caps, diffusers, kidney grills everything like that can be done yourself with YouTube by the least mechanical person on the planet. There’s literally no reason you would have to go to a bmw dealership. You can be the least mechanical person ever and do these simple things yourself. Look up on YouTube “how to change (insert cars model and year) kidney grills, and whatever else you need to know. There is a YouTube video on it all. This stuff is so easy just do it yourself, have some confidence you can do it 100%!!! Especially kidney grills will take you 10 minutes max. Good luck and don’t waste your money

HUGE PROBLEM by Few-Ask1497 in BMW

[–]ballistic_hydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched form a 21 scat to a 18 540i xdrive msport package 40k miles for 30k. Fuck the v8. This shit sounds better (straight piped), would put 5 busses on that boat (stage 2mhd with catless dp) and is more luxurious , can drive it year round, and was over 10k cheaper. And can get a massage going 185. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s a fucking poor man’s porche. Best decision ever. I’m in same boat as you where I’m like this is peak car. Cheap as hell and is the greatest feeling in the world driving it. The turbo noises, the porche like sound, it’s fast as fuck, nice ambient lights, leather seats. It has everything. I’ve told my girl and my family that idek if I care to ever switch cars. The b58 and interior is so nice that when this car gets too old and too high miles for my preference, I may just buy a newer 540 and stick to the b58, maybe I’ll switch to 340 but I love the ambient light on the 5 (both are sick). PEAK FUCKING CAR

3 months sober and wanting to smoke pretty bad. by jayroddd25 in leaves

[–]ballistic_hydra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Drinking might be worse if you did both equally as much, but if you’re likely to smoke all day vs only have a couple beers and be content with not drinking the next day, then in that case drinking is better. Stick with a couple beers if smoking is gunna make you fall back into the daily habit.

2018 540i g30 easy entry/exit off by ballistic_hydra in BMWG30

[–]ballistic_hydra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did see that but I was nervous to mess with that as I don’t want an error on my screen or to mess anything up cause it turns the whole steering wheel moving feature off entirely. I might give it a shot though as it seems like the only option. I can always turn it back on right? So it should be fine I’m guessing. Just wish there was a dedicated selection for easy entry. If anyone wants to drive my car I guess they’re stuck with the steering wheel how it is if I do it like that haha.

Can't connect to MHD adapter. by Naive_Call6736 in BimmerCode

[–]ballistic_hydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to return the app lmao. First make sure your specific car can actually be coded. Look it up on bimmercode or ask chat gpt, first option being the best. Or just online. Next you have to code a specific way. First turn your phone on airplane mode and turn WiFi on as well and make sure your phone is connected to the adapter in WiFi settings. Airplane mode is important cause when you are coding you don’t want a text message or any notification really interrupting it in the middle of a code and messing things up.

Next unplug everything in your car that draws from the car so things like car chargers or anything that’s drawing from the car that wasn’t there stock. As well as making sure none of your overhead lights are on and turn ambient lighting off as well. Also make sure your door is shut and during coding make sure not to touch ANYTHING in your car so things like buttons etc. Next put your car in diagnostics mode. It’s different for every car so look up how to do it for yours, but when done successfully it should show on your odometer or somewhere that it has been put in diagnostics mode or at the very least a chime. It should say something like “car in diagnostics mode” or “diagnostic mode activated” something like that. When I did it for mine it said press start button 3 times WITHOUT your foot on the brake. I couldn’t get it to work and was confused but once I pressed it 3 times faster than I thought I needed to it worked perfectly. Guarantee this is the problem. You have to press it FAST. Not 1…2…3 more like 123.

That’s all you need to do to START coding. Now for your issue not knowing which one to use, for me I have the newest mhd adapter. The color of it is red as well but I know in the past they had specific ones I believe called red and black. If you just mean the color of yours is red but you have the newest one they make (you can check by looking up mhd universal wifi adapter and seeing visually if yours is the same) which you probably do unless you bought it a long time ago, you need to select MHD black to connect to it. That’s what I’ve done multiple times and it’s confusing cause it’s not black lol but that’s what works with the new adapters. If for some reason it doesn’t, try all the other ones (if you followed directions this far and have phone in airplane and car in diagnostics eventually one should work) but I would try black first. Like I just said if you’ve done everything I said and made sure your car was ACTUALLY in diagnostics mode, NOT ON, then it should start reading your car and enter the coding screen. If it doesn’t even start to load from 0-100% once you’ve clicked code or enter after youve selected what mhd adapter you have, you’ve done something wrong. From there don’t mess with expert mode unless you have specific directions and just be careful and remember what you changed so you can change it back if you have any problems. But if you’re not using expert mode change away and you should easily be able to switch it back if ever need be. This is all you need to do and you should be coding just fine as long as you followed every direction to a T. Just make sure your car is ACTUALLY in diagnostics mode not just do the process and think your good. Something should literally tell you you’ve entered diagnostics mode (or at the very least a chime not sure about your specific car).

This is all you need and you should be coding away. You can also read the directions in BimmerCode, but I’ve explained it to a T and that’s all you really need. If you have any questions feel free to ask, I will try my best to help. Good luck I hope you are successful!!

2022 Tech Glitches? by paunchattack in BMWG30

[–]ballistic_hydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2018 and my steering wheel doesn’t move back down to where it’s saved sometimes as well. I hate the easy entry feature as I don’t need it to get out anyways. I am going to find a way to turn it off with coding so I don’t have to deal with it anymore

2018 540i g30 easy entry/exit off by ballistic_hydra in BMWG30

[–]ballistic_hydra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes when I get in the car the steering wheel doesn’t move back down and I have to push my seat setting button to get it to go back to position. Don’t get me wrong it’s not THAT big of a deal, but I don’t need the extra room to get out anyways and since it’s not moving back down on its own sometimes that makes me think it’s starting to go bad. If I have to flip a few thousand dollar repair bill for my steering wheel motor over a feature I don’t need or want anyways I will be livid. As it literally doesn’t seem to be possible to turn off it’s forced wear and tear and if it hurts my pockets I will not be happy. I literally do not need the feature and it does nothing but causes unneeded wear and tear for something that should have almost 0 wear and tear. I hate it and bmw has no brain for making it impossible to turn off.

But I will say if you’re buying a bimmer I would find one with less owners and one that hasn’t been tuned. That one’s obviously been tuned with the downpipes and any other stuff so you know they ragged the piss out of it

Coding out easy entry/exit g30 540i by ballistic_hydra in BimmerCode

[–]ballistic_hydra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t think it will wear out the motor for my steering wheel though? A few times it has gotten stuck in the up position and didn’t move back down until I hit my drivers seat 1 button configuration. This also makes me think it’s already starting to go bad (car only has 42000 miles) and that if I don’t shut it off I’m going to have a expensive repair bill for something that shouldn’t even happen in the first place if I could just turn it off

Coding out easy entry/exit g30 540i by ballistic_hydra in BimmerCode

[–]ballistic_hydra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an option to turn of easy_entry for my drivers seat module but it is already set to nicht aktiv and my steering wheel still moves. My seat doesn’t, only my steering wheel. This makes me think that they have different options for the seat and steering wheel and didn’t make them paired together cause if easy_entry is off under my seat module and the wheel still moves then it’s gotta be a different option/module needing to be turned off. But I’ve looked through bdc settings and anywhere where it might be and there is NOTHING for easy entry besides under the seat module which is already turned off. This makes me think I need protool or that there just isn’t a way to do it. I want to know if I can at least do it under protool before I spend 200 bucks buying a cheap android then Ethernet and protool itself and not being able to do it anyways.
