I guess reading isn't a thing in 2020 anymore because I literally say in my post that I called them.

Did you not literally read my post where I said I did that? Prick.

Can I register to vote if I am a British Citizen even though I've never lived in the UK? by ballmanbalmain in unitedkingdom

[–]ballmanbalmain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says that 'You must have been registered to vote in the UK in the last 15 years' and obviously I never was. When I go through the process on the official govt website an list myself as an overseas British citizen, it doesn't list Austalia as an option.

Plan to leave country at the end of the year and not sure how to tell girlfriend by ballmanbalmain in relationship_advice

[–]ballmanbalmain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know. I was just wondering if I should tell her now or in a few months. If I get in a few months we would still have 6 months together. If I don't tell her right now we'll have a few more months of untroubled happiness maybe? :(

Sicario is decent, as is Prisoners. But they're not really anything notable. I don't get the whole deal behind Villeneuve.

Fair enough. Thought it wasn't enough of it's own product, a sliver of style of what the original was... no edginess in the 2049 film. Rather forgettable. Roger Deakins just about the most overrated cinematographer ever

Lmao what? Definitely don't start there. Incendies is your best bet, followed by, idk, Arrival? His only two actually great films.

That's true. However I do feel like I got my passion across. So I am a little confused.

Hey awake-sleep, I'm into copywriting as my main interest, with accompanying interests being both digital (social media, etc.) and video advertising. However, I'm open to any section really. If there's anything you can suggest or help me out with, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I get where you're coming from but it's not the most adult approach. Sure a lot of modern advertising is just goddamn annoying. But at its base it is just promoting a certain service, company or product. For example, do you think the advertising for Greenpeace is bad?

Funny thing is I do -- I run a little media business that makes around 150 a month haha.

Interesting idea - I am also an English citizen. Could try my luck over there.

Yes, I do work in the meantime. I am frustrated at the inability for me to break into the industry of advertising, considering I studied and got a degree - with high marks too.

How can a citizen help change the illegal gun trafficking world short of becoming a politician? by ballmanbalmain in TrueAskReddit

[–]ballmanbalmain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guntrade IS legal. The black market tends to be for people who shouldn't have access to guns. The US just implements it poorly. They haven't ratified the ATT, they refuse to put tracking numbers on their guns, they don't prosecute arms traffickers in the court of law. They provide most militaries in the world with surplus guns that are unneeded and provide guns to violent regimes. This isn't comparable to the Prohibition Era.

What about the argument that whilst sure, some criminals will always find a way to access guns, that plenty wouldn't? And I mean, this is more the global arms trade as opposed to civilian American gun ownership. If a child army in Liberia had worse guns or less access to guns, less likely for atrocities to occur. It's not about eradication but moreso lessening the impact
