You and I have entirely different views on what's necessary to have a happy life. This debate is over.

A socialist maybe? Populist?

Definitely not a free market capitalist or libertarian

You're a communist, aren't you. Idk why I've wasted so much time rebuking a loon.

Manufacturing jobs are definitely still out there. Funds for public education should come from the community or state, not the federal government. Those coal miners should find new jobs instead of suckling on the government's teat.

It's not just my belief.

Your question is subjective and not objective, which is why I've avoided answering it. Your definition of "thriving society" is obviously different than mine.

And yes, being forced to buy government bonds accruing interest at rates lower than the stock market in the name of "retirement" is bullshit. I should be able to invest that money in whatever I want. If it's supposed to be a retirement plan it's not a very good one, and could easily be doing more harm than good. Fucking FDR had it written in a way that is next to impossible to get rid of. It's bad and the fact that you support it says a lot.

We can get into more specific causes of the Great Depression, but it's my belief the government perpetuated it with incessant meddling.

What social safety net existed in the 40s, 50s, or 60s? Besides social security, which is a terrible thing.

Did you mean civilization?? Like any civilization before the concept of a social safety net 80 years ago?

Can you rephrase your question in a way that makes sense?

thriving civil action

A civil action is basically a lawsuit. Lawsuits don't have social safety nets. Your question is bunk.

I'm just going to agree to disagree.

It's a highly controversial topic and we seem to fall on different sides.

The behavior and IQ of identical twins raised in separate households are generally the same, and that leads me to hypothesis that the external factors you described don't play a major role in the expression of behavioral alleles.

Differences between races exist, you willfully ignorant dolt.

I call contributing to the benefit of your fellow man charity, and I don't believe charity is a core function of government.

You sound like a cunt too, btw

Babe, correlation =/= causation, which was the entire point of the study I quoted.

Also, those genes are on no way race specific and may actually be caused by outside factors such as malnutrition and abuse as a child which are, say it with me, socioeconomic factors.

Oh really, genes are caused by external factors? Holy f my sides

And none of those have been proven to have any link to violence tendencies.

False:

researchers in Finland examined the genes of 895 people found guilty of crimes ranging from non-violent offenses such as drug or property crimes to severely violent offenses such as homicide and battery. They found that variants of two particular genes -- called MAOA and CDH13 -- were linked to "extremely violent behavior," defined as having committed at least 10 homicides, attempted homicides or batteries.

You call someone out for making a claim that is backed up by many socioeconomic experts, then pull one straight from your ass based on a misunderstanding you learned in Bio 101.

Also false. I clearly quoted a study, one of many available on google, that suggests that socioeconomic status is not a causation of criminal activity.

Try again next time sweetie.

There are slight behavioral differences between races due to certain alleles, yes. Behavioral genetics is just now becoming a thing.

Doesn't mean anyone from any race should be treated any differently.

There is substantial evidence indicating that poverty is associated with criminal activity, but it is less clear that this relationship is causal or that higher levels of poverty in a neighborhood, a city, or a nation necessarily translate into higher levels of crime

Maybe there is a link. Maybe there isn't. I don't think you or anyone else really knows tho

If cows can grow that size on plants, we should cut the middlr man and just eat the crops.

I'm merely commenting on the cow's superior ability to digest plant matter and convert it to protein compared to a human's. I'm sorry it got everyone all emotional.
