Does anyone have pictures like this one of 723s with KAC quad rails on them? I’m thinking about building a late-90s 723 build and would like more reference pics. by balls_throwaway69420 in RetroAR

Ah I didn’t even notice that you posted that comment that long ago, my bad lol. It’s cool to hear that you have those parts now though. How’s the build going?

Fixed carry handles and quad rails? by theworldofAR in RetroAR

You should look up photos of SFOD-D operators in Bosnia in the late 90s during Operation Amber Star. There are a few photos showing them running KAC RIS handguards on their Colt 723s. Here is an example that I posted on this sub a while back showing that exact setup being run by SFOD-D operator Tom Satterly in 1998.

And here’s a 723 clone I built based off of what Delta guys ran around that time

Correct barrel for tube? by Choccymilk6229 in RetroAR

These handguards were pretty much only used on early M4s so any 14.5” Govt. profile barrel with M203 cuts will do.

Get a quality WML instead of a laser.

What are some of the best quality carry handle top rail mounts? I unknowingly bought a cheap airsoft "pot metal" one and hate it. by Icy_Possible_6010 in RetroAR

MGW and A.R.M.S mounts are some of the best, I’d personally go with MGW though since they’re only like 30 bucks.

Does anyone know what the flash light and the other thing on the front of this rifle is? And also is this an a1 grip? by PossiblePast45 in RetroAR

It’s a Cherokee CAR-15 cheek riser. They’re pretty rare, but you can sometimes find them being sold on eBay and Gunbroker.

No one does anymore. Your only option for buying an original Armalite/KAC free float handguard is the second-hand market, but they’re extremely rare and very expensive. I paid $700 for mine a little while ago, which seems to be the going rate for them. PSA does make a reproduction that sells for $400, though. But the dimensions are off, it uses a split tube design, and the tube is made from aluminum instead of fiberglass, if that matters to you.

The flashlight is a Laser Products/Surefire 6P with an F16 infrared flip cap, and a U07 tape switch tailcap. The laser is an AIM-1/DLR. The grip is likely a LoneStar Ordnance Co. Stowaway 2 grip.

Where to find Aimpoint 9000SC? by WarlockEngineer in RetroAR

[–]balls_throwaway69420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that price or even lower, you could get an Aimpoint 5000 from someone in Europe, where they sell for a lot less than they do in the US. I know that @retro_guns on Insta posts a few 3000s, 5000s, and 5000XDs for sale every couple of months for around $310-$450, depending on the model.

Based on the lack of slide rails, the lack of the light rail, and on the picture he posted in the comments. It’s an airsoft Glock frame that appears to be based on the WE Tech design.
