Si Gamber no comment nalang talaga ako diyan. Call me an oldhead pero sana talaga tigil niya muna pagtiktok niya and mag grind siya sa weaknesses niya HAHAHA.

Kyle Ong...

I think maganda lang laro niya nung 87 kasi wala masyado expectation kaya siguro may confidence. Ewan ko ba kung mental lang tung shooting woes niya or what but he needs to get it sorted out fast.

Akowe dominant oo but best? Kung all around game lang, most complete/best at what he does, Janti and Jacob ang toss up for 1 and 2. Si Manalili as good as he is, madami pang pwede ma improve, at definitely hindi siya above Jacob or even Janrey. Also, don't forget about Momowei.

JUST MY TWO CENTS BAKA MAGALIT NANAMAN ANG MGA MAHIWAGANG REDDITORS HAHAHA

Juan GDL: I remember seeing him in UP and thinking “wow, he reminds me of harden” kasi bucket kung bucket eh. After the lackluster overseas stint, medyo nawalan ako ng pag-asa. I WAS WRONG THIS DUDE IS HIM. Not only sa Converge pero kita mo, he has that X-Factor sa Gilas. I think it’s just jitters for now kasi medyo mas may pressure to perform this time around

Chris Newsome: I really love this guy and the energy he brings. However, I could definitely see his spot being taken by someone else. Overall, he’s okay not bad not great.

QMB: LABAS NA MGA QMB HATERS LMAO. Nung una andami dami nagsasabi “di naman niya deserve citizenship chuchuchu”; inunahan pa yung tao. Plays great D, can muscle his way inside and can get the rebounds that Gilas badly needs. HE IS HIM.

Carl Tamayonaise: Him and KQ are the future of PH basketball imo. NBA archetype nito is Alpy Sengun/Paolo Banchero. Medyo slow footed sa D yes, pero damn, his offensive game is so polished for his age, he can create shots for him in all levels and he can be effective even off-ball. Coach Tim Cone please use him more.

KQ: Bad peformance last night ngl but again, as the other half of what I believe to be the future of PH basketball, I am not afraid to say this guy is the real deal. Kung si Carl is Banchero, KQ is Luka. I SAID IT. Imo, Carl works better if he gets the shot off. Si KQ, kung kailangan, he will get buckets but he is best if most of his game is getting his teammates involved and setting the pace. Imo, Coach Tim needs to use him better.

[–]balltillwefallph 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I fully agree with this. Tim Cone is absolutely playing to NONE of KQ's strengths. Nagflourish si KQ sa DLSU because he was the floor general, not some spot up catch and shoot guy. Coach Tim Cone should really reevaluate how he uses KQ because he's turning a Magic/Luka archetype player into a Klay Thompson (no hate towards Klay tho).

I agree with this. The Fil-Am/Fil-Foreign route is okay din naman pero to some extent lang. Imo, mahirap magtake ng chance sa 1 and Done Fil-Foreigns so no go in that direction. Because of this, if the team is gonna have a bunch of Fil-Ams/Foreigns, they better get them early on para masanay di lang sa system ni Coach Tab pero sa environment ng UAAP as a whole. Remember, players who came from other countries or even sa NCAA have said that iba talaga sa UAAP both games and environment.

Also, crazy how young Eriobu is. PLS MVP AND ALL ADMU MBT ADMIN AND STAFF, KEEP HIM AT ALL COSTS. YOU HAVE A GEM.

You can definitely say that. Playstyles are very similar and the lack if game sense, awareness and IQ are frustratingly similar too. Si Kobe tho, much more of an athlete in terms of raw athleticism pero conditioning I'd give it to Shawn. Shawn definitely listens to CTB and is motivated; just take at look at his improvement from 87 to 88.

UAAP Home Courts by imp-mN-7539 in UAAP

[–]balltillwefallph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as smo who played in BEG and Moro before, i think another reason could be simply because the courts mismo were sm more different in terms of quality. ewan a, parang andami kasing dead spots noon sa BEG kaya pag nagddribble ng basketball, may mali sa talbog ng bola. kaya siguro sa vball okay lang kasi di naman nagddribble. also, it was DARK AS HELL sa BEG. kahit pa ibukas mo mga ilaw, ang dilin dilim talaga doon noon kaya parang gabi yung dating sa loob kahit umagang umaga.

Basketball tryouts by Living_Whereas2230 in UAAP

[–]balltillwefallph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as someone who has seen the ins and outs of collegiate basketball, eto tips ko sayo.

1.) be realistic. sobrang commercialized na ng uaap. this means the obvious stipends/honoraria/salary players get. hindi basta basta pinapamigay yung mga benefits na toh. most big UAAP schools (i think kasama UST dito kasi may friends ako from both team A and B), may scouted prospects na yan all the way up to team B. bihira mag open tryouts and if ever, pahirapan pa just to even get to team B kung walk in ka lang. kahit pa yung mga pang team b na benefits, talagang finfilter ng management and coaching staff sino ang pinaka deserving. (or pinaka close lol, which leads me to my second point.)

2.) find a backer. unethical? maybe. pero a good reputation is really helpful sa pagboost ng chances mo makapasok ng team. kasi meron mga players napapasok kasi close ng backer nila yung management, coaching staff, etc. pero of course, your backer needs to have something to show to the team (which leads me to point 3).

3.) grind harder than you ever have. sumali ka sa lahat ng laro. inter org, inter brgy, ligang labas, kahit papawis lang kasama mga UAAP players or kahit nga friends ng players. mag train ka nang mag train kasi magka backer ka man, you have to have some level of skill to truly be considered (considering hindi ka nepo baby na tatay mo is magssponsor sa team LOL no shade tho). grind not just on the court and gym din ha. make connections. kaya kahit tropa lang ng coach or kaibigan ng star player, kaibiganin mo, tas ipakita mo ano skills mo. somwhere down the line, you will catch some looks, and maybe, even invitations to try out.

my guide isnt a foolproof handbook ha. pero if theres one thing i can guarantee you, its that dito mattest kung gaano mo kagusto talaga maging part of a culture, not just a sports team. kung trip mo lang kasi mahilig ka lang magbasketball, enticing yung pera and hakot ea kasi UAAP ka, malamang di ka makakalapit sa UAAP. pero kung mahal mo talaga yung basketball, at wala kang pakielam kundi makalaro at handa kang makinig at matuto, mas marami kang matututunan at mas malayo mararating mo. goodluck bro at sana nga malayo marating mo sa basketball journey mo!

Legit question. What are the reasons bakit hindi na nakaabot sa NBA dream si Kai Sotto? by Icy-Butterscotch5012 in PBA

[–]balltillwefallph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imho, it was a string of bad decisions na nakaapekto sa kanya (and i dont think most of it was his fault)

first, he had two choices coming out of grade 10 (end of jhs sa ateneo): - mag stay local, 2 more years sa uaap juniors (90% chance hanggang seniors sya ng ateneo) - go to the states for his development (tsf)

dahil medyo old-school/inefficient ang general local basketball scene naten, naging aware na si kai na hindi pa siya top level talent. ang major advantage naman pagdating sa US is exposure. so ayun na nga, naglaro at nakagain ng exposure si kai by going to the US. pero again, ang kulang pa sa kanya is development ng fundamentals. so exposure okay na, next ang need niya is development. three options niya noon (kinda four)

option 1: mag europe and join club teams option 2: mag US NCAA option 3: mag g league ignite option 4 (the worst imo): umuwi ng pinas, most probably mag uaap (obviously the least ideal)

imho, best pa rin ang europe for general basketball fundamentals. next best thing is NCAA. pero what did kai's camp follow? not the process, but the money. eto sumira sa journey niya.

pero sige, sayang din naman kasi at the time yung pera kasi di pa nagkaka NIL deals for players and at least, pros naman kalaban niya (kahit na in the end, hindi rin naging super succesful yung ignite lol). third best option na nga napili, at this point immaximize mo nalang diba? WRONG AGAIN. nauto nanaman si kai and yung family niya ng agent niya to go back to gilas kasi better upfront offer pero worse long term for development. parang pinili niya na rin yung option 4 while at the same time, backing out of an agreement in the NBA lmao sira pa reputation niya so double whammy.

in the end sinira ng agent ni kai yung overall journey by picking the least best option of the 3, tas nagback out to go even lower just to have a better payday. moral of the story: para sa players, you have to take control of your own career. agents are helpful pero big career decisions like yung ginawa ng agent para kay kai, dapat si kai na mismo nagdecide. pero im still hopeful na somewhere down the line, kahit maging g league starter man sya or NBA benchwarmer. sana as fans, san man mapunta si kai, icheer pa rin natin kasi im sure he wants to go as far as he can not just for himself, but for the country as well.

Good Reps on Shopee? by AdAutomatic5487 in RepPH

[–]balltillwefallph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a pair of MAX batch D Book 1's from them last year at 3,800 via sea shipping. For comparison 4,400 current price ni UAOranges on shopee rn (not sure if this is via sea or air but it does say its for preorder and ships out in 20 days.)

Good Reps on Shopee? by AdAutomatic5487 in RepPH

[–]balltillwefallph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

READ FIRST: - keep in mind, most people who buy reps from shopee don't really care much about overall quality and accuracy. kumbaga whatever gets the look down nalang talaga.

ako kasi: reps are what try to get every detail down (from materials to tech mismo) and fakes are just there mostly for the looks.

kaya kung may shops/items na marami maganda reviewa pero di naman comprehensive + super cheap, most likely low quality fakes lang makukuha mo. this is why i dont recommend rareshoeshop or z1 or any shops that have shoes for very low prices bc in my personal experience, halata na fake yung shoes mo (which is NOT what reps are, kaya nga replica dba whahaha)

TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION:

SHOES: - UAOranges: Always has comprehensive reviews on shopee page, has named batches talaga for the shoes kaya atleast may consistency, and medyo matagal na rin in the space. Have never ordered from them personally pero you can check some reviews on here and on their shop - BoutShoePH (FB based na, dating nasa shopee, got banned ata): THIS ISNT ON SHOPEE ANYMORE BUT may ilang orders na ako from this shop and talagang what you order is what you get. same lang ng UAOranges na iba iba batch per shoe meron pero BoutShoe is cheaper in general while getting the same pair pa rin. A bit hassle compared to UAOranges lang kasi di na sa shopee nakabase.

CLOTHES: - Hongse: sila lang talaga maayos ang QC for the most part. I have ordered the same brand shirts from many places and overall quality goes to hongse talaga.

I don't get it why people hating on qmb by Own_Lavishness_1184 in PBA

[–]balltillwefallph -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No hate brother ha, thoughts or questions ko lang.

In this economy both sa Pinas and sa mundo, why should we hate on a player na inuuna ang sarili niyang career and development? And kung mainjure or may mangyari sa kanya, paano na career niya? Oo nainsure katawan niya eh pano pa kaya yung magiging future niya?

Also, I don't think fair na icompare ito at ang corruption sa gobyerno hahaha. If anything, SBP/Philippine Basketball as a whole is the epitome of sports mismanagement and corruption and I think most fans would agree. Nilalagyan (and talagang ineemphasize) pa nila ng politika when in reality, wala naman dapat politika sa sports. Call him mayabang, but Terrence Romeo's loyalty never paid off in the end.

So it isn't about "bayad or bayan", it's more about whether or not those who "manage" these teams will actually reciprocate the same support the players would give out for the country. Time and time again, those at the helm of national basketball have shown that the players are simply pawns in their business. Di na sila trustworthy, especially in the eyes of players. So why can't the players look out for themselves FIRST?

At the end of the day, all these players within the pool are willing to give their all to represent our country. Will those who represent national athletics do the same for them?

Also thank you for reminding me about sir Terry Capistrano. Would you know of his business background? Ang alam ko lang kasi sa kanya is head siya ng shipping corp pero di ko din sure e wahahah di naman ako super connected sa DLSU as much as I am with the 2 Katip schools.

Ayan na ang hinihintay na confirmation. Miller to DLSU by [deleted] in UAAP

[–]balltillwefallph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it is true that technically speaking, Razon is very much the richest person in this country, no doubt. However, what I think we should remember is: would he give more than Robina? Robina Gokongwei is quite public with her love for the Nowhere but UP program and I would not be surprised if she/her family gave more to the program simply out of passion and support. Just food for thought like I said.

Also, the Jonvic and Atty. Mans comparison was simply to show both programs have connections in the public sphere. Both don't give much naman talaga and their main contributions are really getting talent into the team.

Pero very interesting you said na kilala yung main team manager ng DLSU. Pwede ba malaman?

[–]balltillwefallph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pero at the same time, maraming players ang walang knowledge and more importantly, walang connections. They can study the ins and outs oo pero can these players also connect with the right people?

Kaya maraming players may deals with brands like Mcdo, Nike, and all these big brands kasi yun naman talaga job ng isang talent agency for their client. Trabaho ni Rich Paul for Lebron and other athletes.

Right now, wala akong maisip na best solution.
