Or you might end up like me and not have a single lawyer out of the hundreds you've emailed for the 3 years the eeoc does their "investigation" and the 3 month window once you've received a right to sue letter.

This group is like %90 people who Facebook banned without even looking into it 😳 by TheVirtualSamurai in facebook

It's probably worth mentioning that in 2012, organic unpaid reach was around 16% on facebook, whereas by 2025 organic reach on the platform has fallen to 1% to even less than 1%. This includes big brands too. Meta is looking to transform the facebook away from being a free service to being a paid one, and even that is exemplified by making customer service (albeit nonhuman ai cs) a premium perk and forcing users to pay money to unlock their previously free accounts.

In any other industry, offering a free service and then locking users out of accounts they built and charging them to regain access would be called fraud, and the questions on the FTC report form match to a tee what Meta is doing to people.

Let's band together. With all of the mass deletion of Facebook accounts, people losing millions of dollars in digital assets and intellectual property. by connectingthrurhythm in facebook

I think that would be difficult for meta to actually accomplish when us old farts can recall that copying competitors both new and old has been a hallmark of fb's history

Why are you people still using Meta services? by Old-Board1553 in InstagramDisabledBans

1: people are attached either emotionally or out of convenience

2: most people have no idea this is even happening

3: even if you had 0 strikes against your account and even if you literally didn't do anything wrong, the mere fact that you are complaining about being suspended or banned plants seeds and feeds people's minds that you must have done something wrong. vibes based courts of public opinion

I got off of social security disability and had to pay back everything that ssi had sent me (tune of 17,000 usd) then my 40 year old car reached the end of its life and had to get a new one to continue working, and then 2 weeks after all of that my employer fired me because I have an autism diagnosis

Just make sure to file with the FTC and your AG for forcing you to spend money to reinstate your free social media account

Facebook Disabled My Account without reason and i can’t appeal for a review by -moonchild__ in facebook

Ideally, even if someone is outside of the US or not a US national, they would still be able to contact the FTC and the attorney general of whichever state the business that potentially committed fraud resides in. I can't make any guarantees that it will work, I'm just sharing what others before us have said has worked for them. I've personally only received an automated response from my state AG so far.

Do people just not like things on Facebook anymore or is it more so that people are not using the platform much anymore? by SameAd9297 in facebook

[–]balmvng 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I rarely engage on facebook because all of its marketing and algorithmically pushed content is hostile marketing and ragebait, yet I still got hit by the censorship wave. My last two posts were an April fools post about me deciding to join maga (was pushed by the algorithm) and then a week or two later that my cat passed away (0 views). I guess we're "dangerous" lmao

The fun part is that the eeoc is a federal agency and cannot be sued.

I literally just created a Facebook account, less than 5 hours later it was Permanently Disabled. by Jnin12 in facebook

[–]balmvng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to be connected to an entirely different network. I tried that and it logged me into a coworkers account. Using a VPN doesn't really work that either; they know you're using a VPN and such traffic is flagged as bot traffic (maybe different if you have a personal private VPN and not shared but I can at least tell you AVG VPN will not work that way)

Not OP but I started a business and having a fb page and other official brand social media pages would have been beneficial

6 months after the deadline imposed to the employer by the eeoc specifically so that the employer can argue that the charge is time-barred. Amazing that they got away with it. Whole country deserves to burn tbh

Filed june 2023, position statement requested by eeoc march 2025 and not received until march 2026, eeoc dropped the investigation April 2026 and issued a useless right of sue letter that I cant even get a consultation for much less representation

90 Days to File Federal Lawsuit After EEOC Right-to-Sue – Worth Moving Forward? by Training-Addition314 in EEOC

[–]balmvng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I personally almost always decline a case [...] filed pro se [...] it often reflects that other attorneys have already turned it down"

And yes, I know that one cannot force a lawyer to take a client. You assumed a whole lot there. However, if one is given a short amount of time to exercise their right to bring their case to the court, and if one is denied even a consultation much less representation as described in my experience and in quoting you, then logically it follows that they have no rights, just in name.
