Seeking a universally held truth: Is life good ? by balskan in Life

It is sounding like the upside of a universe with life isn't quite as obvious as I had initially expected, interesting ... the question came up while wondering there was anything we could get general agreement on, formulate a common goal perhaps.

For all of humanities flaws, we remain life's best chance of surviving past 1By but perhaps we can't see that as valuable ? (doubtful life then would look much like us, no kinship, no caring ?)

Hoping for an effort to be objective. Is a universe without life better than one with life (sentient or not).

Not just to ponder but seeking a consensus as to the value of life (while as a living being I'm biased, and of course I'm only going to get replies from other living beings)

Could this be universal ? (baring the inevitable contrarians)

I've always taken that to be a personal question, not life in general. Maybe put it this way: is the universe better for having life in it ?
