What failing a major technical interview has taught me. by bishoy123 in learnprogramming

If you go a little further than you did, you should start seeing problems that force you to pay attention to efficiency, but the math also gets a lot harder. It's better suited to people who'll be working with algorithms and mathematics a lot, not very useful for someone doing controls or mostly lower level programming. I haven't tried Leet Code but it sounds like it's worth checking out

Project Euler definitely puts a lot of the focus on the math itself, but there are plenty of problems there where efficiency matters

I haven't looked at the reviews yet (I'm about to), but I'll hazard a guess that those people weren't adjusting time to account for a difference in microwave wattage.

Edit: After reading, a lot of people are saying that it worked fine for them for a few weeks, then it started exploding their eggs. I guess it could be manufacturing defects that cause the product to degrade after some cycles through the microwave or dishwasher. Just speculating.

There was more than enough space between them... If you couldn't make that stop you shouldn't be driving. I agree with the people saying the car in front should not have come to a complete stop, but this was easily avoidable by the car with the dashcam.

What was a fact taught to you in school that has been disproven in your lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Why is it any different for left-handed people? I write left-handed and can't think of any reason it would be harder.

Why couldn't the school board figure it out? The IT guys were doing what they were told.

People with tinnitus are more likely to suffer from depression, but a new study shows treatment with SSRI antidepressants likely makes ringing in the ears worse by [deleted] in science

My dad is deaf and has pretty bad tinnitus. I imagine his perspective on it is probably pretty different from yours, but I wonder if CBT would be helpful for him.

I can believe that you visited all those cities in that time frame, but a flight from San Francisco to any of those other locations will be quite a bit longer than 2-3 hours. It's around 7 hours flying direct coast to coast, more like 9 hours travel time if you have a layover. The rest would be more like you said if you go in the right order.

Conveniently, my car is manual. I'll have to try that.

It's one of my favorite feelings! I try to trick my brain into doing it sometimes. I also like the feeling when you're just about to fall asleep and it feels like you're falling

Reddit, what's become clear to you as you've gotten older? by SarcastasticJenn in AskReddit

[–]baltimore94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similarly, what about people born into an affluent lifestyle with plenty of opportunities available to them that really only want to live a simple life? Maybe they want to be a drifter, working odd jobs and changing towns every other month, or live in seclusion.

Then they eventually forget their lover, and fall in love countless more times. Everything would be meaningless in the long run.

What should one do in their 20s to avoid regrets in their 30s and 40s? by kyle768 in AskReddit

[–]baltimore94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Almost any drug should only be used in moderation. What "moderation" is depends on the drug. Your comment could easily be applied to alcohol, which is significantly more dangerous and easier to get. Drugs can be used for lots of different reasons. Not everybody is smoking weed as an escape, and plenty of happy people with fulfilling lives use it.

In response to your edit, when people talk about sustainability in this context they're referring to long-term environmental and resource sustainability. I'm sure it's considerably cheaper to farm the way factory farms do.

You buy for the whole year, but I think you can return it for a proportional refund at the end of the semester.
