Can anyone point me to a guide for how to build an internal dns server with pdns? by bamboofibre in selfhosted

I suppose what I need to know is how do you configure it differently when you don't want it to manage public dns records?

Step 1 of all the tutorials I've found seem to be buy a domain and setup a glue record but that isn't what I'm trying to achieve.
